From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Corey Wicks) I cannot pretend to speak on behalf of Dr. Habsburg. He speaks eloquently enough for himself. My correspondence with the Archduke is brief and is part of a correspondence that I have had with several members of royalty in Europe and various monarchist organizations. First of all, restoring monarchies in individual countries is not the same as restoring the Holy Roman Empire. If the monarchy would be restored in Austria it would not likely be Otto that would be entroned. However, his son Karl may be someone to consider in this regard. Last I heard he had his own gameshow on Austrian television and was quite popular. However, as a member of the Imperial family he is banned from entering politics. [Last I heard I believe Austria was considering repealing the "Habsburg Law"] It remains to be seen whether the old Imperial lands of Hungary and Bohemia support a Habsburg restoration in their lands. By the way, Prince Karl Schwarzenburg, who owns a large castle in downtown Prague, scoffed at the idea of a Habsburg restoration when I presented him with the idea. HSH Prince Hans-Adam II, Sovereign of Leichtenstein, held a wait-and-see attitude. Obviously a restored Holy Roman Empire would benefit the Vatican so it wouldn't surprise me if members of Opus Dei did support the idea. The Catholic notion of "The Social Reign of Our Lord" is a monarchist one. But I don't have any good "intelligence" on Opus Dei with respect to which claimants they might support. >From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > >In a message dated 12/19/98 2:59:29 AM Eastern Standard Time, >[EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: > ><< I have personally corresponded with Archduke Otto von Habsburg. This could easily be the work of the Opus Dei, IMO. >Teo1000 > >------------------------------------------------------------------------ >To unsubscribe from this mailing list, or to change your subscription >to digest, go to the ONElist web site, at http://www.onelist.com and >select the User Center link from the menu bar on the left. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ To unsubscribe from this mailing list, or to change your subscription to digest, go to the ONElist web site, at http://www.onelist.com and select the User Center link from the menu bar on the left.
