People don't want well-reasoned arguments. When do you ever see
well-reasoned arguments on poverty issues coming from BCTV or CBC or CTV?
When Jack Cram presented well-reasoned arguments in court and in public on
political-judicial corruption in BC, the media yawned. When he started
ranting and raving he got his picture on the cover of Georgia Straight
and was front stage centre for BCTV. WHAT he had to say substantively was
irrelevant in either case.
Here's a well-reasoned statement on poverty which evokes yawning
indifference. THERE IS ONLY ONE IDENTIFIABLE GROUP IN CANADA WHICH CAN BE
TARGETED WITH HATE TO SUCH AN EXTENT THAT SOCIETY AT LARGE CAN EVEN METE
OUT A DEATH SENTENCE AGAINST THEM. That group is identified as "poor
people". Now you tell us why the NDP wants "sexual orientation" cited as a
one of the identifiable groups listed in Canada's anti-hate/anti-genocide
laws and not "poor people". Ask Reverend Blaikie, cc'd with Breitkreuz.
According to a stream of CBC and CTV ads, about 30,000 children die every
day on this planet because of deprivation by society at large of the
necessities of life. How many gays and lesbians on the planet suffer this
fate? And when have the churchocrats of Canada ever spoken out to say that
Jane Doe has a RIGHT TO LIFE as surely as the fetus Jane Doe is carrying
has a right to life? Breitzkreuz, MP of the Alliance hypocrites pushes
their "pro-life bill" but when has Alliance ever pushed a bill to say that
poor folk have a right to life? What kind of "morality" do they stand for
on sexual orientation issues? Morality is not the same as right wing
obsessing and mindless habits. Morality is not the same as mindless
moralizing. But what good is reasoning when one is dealing with then likes
of Alliance or Churchianity which are both unwilling to reason out
matters? They will not reason out for us their DEFINITION OF MARRIAGE
because neo-fascist bigots have no powers of reasoning worth spit.
And that is also why they will not reason out a morally sound pro-life
bill which includes the right to life of the poor. WHAT IS THE MORAL
TRANSGRESSION OF POOR PEOPLE WHICH WARRANTS SUCH HATE BY CANADIANS?
Speaking of right-wing bigots who cannot or will not use reasoning
properly, both pope and president have used the phrase, "culture of life".
They use it as loosely as drunks in a beer parlour. Both have vast
resources at their disposal. It should be easy for them to reason out what
a culture of life would be like as a real entity capable of saving and
preserving lives. So you see the point: why reason with unreasonable
people? Ranting and raving and cheap, shallow slogans are their level of
communication.
