-Caveat Lector-

Is this anonymous magazine illegal?
Does it tout Arnold for President depending on pending legislation?
Does Jerry Brown still endorse Arnold for Governor?
Arnold has dodged, not "denied" Hitler admiration remarks!
Shame on The Bakersfield Californian - Withdraw Arnold endorsement!

Is the purpose of this "Arnold, The American Dream" --
published as an "anonymous magazine" -- to avoid reponsibility
of political fundraising legalities and reporting requirements?
The magazine cost $4.95 ($5.95 Canada)
with no publisher identification info, only barcode 09281 51035

Now that the Oakland Tribune has pulled its endorsement of Arnold for
Governor will the Bakersfield California also, or stand up for Hitler
admirers?

"Send Gov. Davis packing" and "Elect Arnold Schwarzenegger"

Arnold only said, "I don't remember" and "I can't imagine saying that" and
he despises Hitler for what he did, and his supporters say those remarks
were taken out of context, but Arnold has not denied he said those words,
to his credit as an honest man. Honesty and attitude are not mutually
exclusive. Was Hitler honest about what he believed? Is Arnold?

What does Jerry Brown have to say about Arnold for Governor now?
Still might vote for him for Governor as Bakersfield Californian quoted him
weeks ago? [more on this question below anonymous magazine article]

October 4, for the first time I noticed in the checkout line at the
market a slick glossy magazine titled "Arnold" with bannerline
"Never-Before-Seen-Pictures" and subtitled "The American Dream"

The overall impression of this "Arnold, The American Dream"
"anonymous magazine" is that it is published intentionally in
a way to avoid legal reponsibility for whatever it might say or
be construed to say supporting his gubernatorial candidacy
and the fundraising legalities and reporting requirements
thereof by confusing it all as a part of "Arnold, Inc." Also it
gives the suggestion that Arnold indeed is "being groomed"
to run for US President should he win the California Governor's
office on October 7, and then be able to be the backup or
"showoff" Republican Candidate in 2004, if they can get this
pending law passed to bypass natural born citizenship requirement
in time for 2004 or 2008, and of course depending on the
"popularity" of President GW Bush by that time. Similar to the
"show candidacy" of "converted Republican" Westley Clark
coming into the race lately to apparently try and capture enough
support to ensure a Republican victory one way or another in 2004.

ARNOLD FOR PRESIDENT?

A few years ago I got a post over the internet with one of the many
"conspiracy theory" stories and dismissed the whole piece because it
mentioned the idea that Arnold Schwarzenegger was "being groomed"
to be elected as a Republican President of the United States, and I
"knew" there was a law to effect that only people born in the US could
hold that office. I remembered that piece from years ago when earlier
this year I got a post saying there had been introduced into Congress
a bill to change that law so that immigrant citizens could also hold
presidential office. I wrote that off thinking "well, that bill will never
pass into law" especially with the Texans in control of the White House.
That piece came again to mind more strongly when Arnold announced
his candidacy for California Governor but I thought, like the Doonesbury
cartoon last Sunday, he will never get elected since to knowledgeable
folks he is just an actor and buffoon. Then Remy Chevalier sent me his
glowing endorsement of Arnold and I thought, hmm, if someone like
Remy who is so active against the policies of folks like Bush and crew,
of which Arnold is clearly a part in everyone's eyes, so I thought then,
"there is something really wrong here with this picture." Remy's glowing
endorsement of violence as entertainment made me think of Yamato's
continuing comment that it is the attitude of the American public that
is responsible for the problems of the government, not the politicians.
His symbolic message on this is "when you point your finger to blame
someone else, look at your own hand, there are three fingers pointing
back at you at the same time."

--------- "Arnold, The American Dream" -- The Anonymous Magazine

Now today for the first time I noticed in the checkout line at the market
a slick glossy magazine titled "Arnold" with bannerline "Never-Before-
Seen-Pictures" and subtitled "The American Dream" with five cover
photos, the center biggest one with Arnie on his Harley in leather with
cool shades and his "I'm bad" look on his face with caption, "Exclusive
Interviews with Arnold & Joe Weider, the father of bodybuilding" and
the four others, in order from top left to bottom right, of him as a buffed
out bodybuilder in younger days muscling up for the camera with
caption "7-Time Mr. Olympia", then him as Conan with sword front,
"Box Office King", and top left pictured happy in a business suit with
his wife captioned, "Camelot's Future," and bottom right corner at the
microphones with fist raise with big gawdy gold and jewel ring on his
finger in a sharp suit and tie and an "I'm an intelligent and agressive
public speaker look on his face" with caption "Political Leader."

Since the magazine cost $4.95 ($5.95 Canada) barcode 09281 51035,
I figured not to buy it and then the caption of "Camelot's Future" kept
drawing my attention so I bought the magazine and have been studying
it today. The back cover is one big photo of him in a black suit with
black t-shirt on standing in front of his Harley on a wooden floor agaist
a huge wall TV screen with an outdoors scene on it and him with a big
grin waiving a six foot flagpole with a US Flag slightly blurred as he is
whipping it around for the camera. (120 numbered pages magazine)

There is absolutely nothing anywhere in the magazine that tells who
published it or any indication of what organization or company is
responsible for authorizing it or where thus the money from its sales
go to. Very unusual to me as I never before saw a magazine,
especially one so slick, with absolutely no attribution, no copyright
notice or anything like that. The inside cover has his essay, "Living
the American Dream, by Arnold Swarzenegger" and the spillover
two page portrait has him in black leather jacket and black t-shirt
looking like a real clean cut American actor biker guy, with table
of contents on right of first page overlaying part of photo, titled,
"Arnold" -- "The American Dream" with section titles of "The Wonder
Years" -- "The Golden Years" -- "Mr. Olympia" -- "Arnold and Joe
Weider" -- "A Star is Born" -- "Camelot's Future: Arnold and Maria"
-- "Arnold, Inc." -- "Politician" -- "Supporting Our Troops"

The Wonder Years begins with "A loving but disciplined family life,
hard work, rules and responsibility became an integral part of his
life that would lead him to greatness." Photo pages go from kid
photos to many muscle man photos as a youth, a photo of him
in the Austrian Army, ending with section titled "Building the perfect
body" featuring photo of him posed with pretty girls surrounding him
studying him sitting on steps in bikini briefs. The first pages mention
Arnold's father Gustav, "worked in a steelworks factory...before
entering police work, which would be his career for most of his adult
life.." Each morning Arnold and his older brother were forced to do
calisthenics before breakfast. "When I got up in the morning, my
father had my brother and me stand there in front of the kitchen table,
before we had breakfast, and do pushups, squats, knee bends and
all those kind of exercises - jumping jacks - in order to earn breakfast,
as you would say," Arnold remembers. 9pp

The Golden Years is 18pp of gym workout photos.

The 7-Times Mr. Olympia section/chapter is 4pp of him posing on
stages receiving muscle awards with end page big color photo of
him as Conan the Barbarian with sword in hand facing camera with
benignly menacing look.

The Arnold & Joe chapter portrays his mentor as an adopted father
figure and starts with "Bodybuilding's greatest treasure and the man
who discovered him" 8pp more bodybuilding shots and some photos
with bigshots in bodybuilding.

A Star is Born chapter begins quoting Arnold, "I'd just gotten off the
boat, you see, and someone asked me if I wanted to be in a movie.
It seemed like a dream." It explains, "They changed his name to
Arnold Strong" (Hercules movies with dubbed over voice due to
his "thick Austrian accent") and "More recently, with the
announcement that Arnold would be running for governor of California,
the movie has become a cult hit on DVD." "The Early Years" has
him pictured with a big group of admiring women each dressed in
white with bouquets like bride choices admiring him on pedestal
flexing, with his intro quote, "In Pumpin Iron, I got to play one of the
all-time great cinematic characters - myself" and explaining that
Pumping Iron was "Arnold's Big Break" because "Arnold became
a media darling in 1977 withthe release of Pumping Iron..." After
some photos and discussion of small film parts this section then
goes to bold title of "Arnold's Big Break" with photos of him with
sword(s) in hand in "Conan The Barbarian," "Red Sonya," and
"Conan The Destroyer," and then going to subsection with movie
photos titled "The Terminator Trilogy, Rise of an Icon" with Arnold's
quote, "It's fun to play the bad guy. Jim Cameron used to talk about
how, deep down, we'd all like to be the Terminator for at least two
minutes." The section goes on with photos and quotes from the
Terminator movies including the "I'm bad on a motorcyle" photo
mentioned above. The next subsection is titled "Arnie's Action
Hero Films" and then "Arnold's Funny Side" both with numerous
movie stills from his films. Then pages listing his movies with
title of "Still Box Office King" with the chapter ending with a page
of "Arnold's Greatest Lines -- No Arnold Swarzenegger movie
would becomplete without at least three or four pithy zingers.
Following are some of Arnold's best movie lines" most all quotes
generally relating to guns, violence, threats, and making humor
out of these themes and other such as torture. Interesting that
these are claimed as Arnold's line's, not the writer's lines or his
movie "character's lines" but "Arnold's Greatest Lines", ie, this
is how he really thinks and believes an "action hero" should talk
and act and behave as a role model for America and the world. 32pp

The chapter, "Arnold & Maria, Camelot's Future" starts with,
"On the surface, Arnold and Maria appeared to be complete
opposites. They were from two different sides of the world.
He was a Republican, she a staunch Democrat. Little could
anyone predict it was a match made in heaven," with the happy
couple pictured in wedding garb. The photo story covers their
courtship and includes a photo captioned "Arnold became
part of the Kennedy family. Here he's escorting Caroline Kennedy
to the 1978 premier of 'Superman' in New York" showing a doe
eyed young Caroline. Then a photo of Arnold with his mother,
"It was a very special moment for Arnold when he brought his
mother to the White House, where Arnold was a frequent guest
during the Reagan administration," and a September 16, 1983,
photo of him and his wife on becoming a US Citizen. Many
family pictures follow with narratives including a closeup of
Arnold and John F. Kennedy Jr, captioned "The Kennedy family
embraced Arnold as one of their own. Above, he chats with
John F. Kennedy Jr." 20pp

The chapter "Arnold, Inc." begins with him pictured with Bruce
Willis wearing a Planet Hollywood ballcap and captioned,
"Arnold with his close friend and business associate Bruce
Willis" and starts with the introduction, "Arnold's decision to
come to America turned out to be a good one for his business
ambitions as well as his bodybuilding pursuits," and quotes
Arnold, "I am the living, breathing incarnation of the American
Dream." The chapter goes on with various photos and narratives
including mention of Arnold's generous charitable contributions
and discussing the need for children and teenagers to have
better role models than their parents due to the decay of the
family as stated next to photos of him with President GHW Bush,
and another of him with General Colin Powell. His work with
inner city kids is explained and he is quoted on the Inner City
Games, "Kids shooting hoops - instead of shooting dope or
shooting guns. How great is that?" The annual physical fitness
even he sponsors in Columbus Ohio is dubbed "The Arnold"
and attracts 70,000 fans every year it says. 12pp

The chapter headed "Politician" in the table of contents begins
with title "Political POWER Broker" whose intro page ends with
"...a recall election scheduled, Arnold saw his opportunity. After
realizing the American Dream, the chance to serve his country
had arrived" over photo of him being mobbed by crowd and
shaking hands. Photos in this chapter picture him with President
Ford, President GHW Bush, Bruce Willis at a Bush campaign
event, Jesse Ventura at Minnesota governor victory party, and
with GHW Bush and Florida Governor Jeb Bush at an event
supporting GHWB. The subsections include "Politics and
Circuses" and "A New Hope" with him pictured announcing
his gubernatorial candidacy on Jay Leno show and Arnold
quoted, "You have to understand why I depise most of the
politicians...They're like a bunch of children who aren't willing
to take responsibility for anything negative." 12pp

The final chapter has Arnold in numerous photos with US
military units but he is not wearing a flight suit in any. 5pp

What does Jerry Brown have to say about Arnold for Governor now?
Still might vote for him for Governor as Bakersfield Californian quoted him
weeks ago?

That tacit sarcastic endorsement by Oakland Mayor Jerry Brown in early
stages of this recall campaign in flippant comment attributed to him in the
Bakersfield Calfornian due to Mayor Brown's frustration with Governor Davis'
lack of support for the City of Oakland's needs now needs a clarification or
Jerry may be later viewed in a similar light to Niccolo Machiavelli whose
partially satirical book The Prince has been twisted into the brutal
political doctrine of Machiavellianism by those who see this as the
"realism" of nation state politics.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/drums-of-peace/message/39

Certainly nobody can accuse Jerry Brown of being a Davis or Democratic Party
lackey and his authoritative observations as a former California Governor
and US Democratic Presidential Candidate need to be publicly aired as soon
as posssible for the public to know if he genuinely supports Arnold for
Governor, espcially now that the Oakland Tribune has recently withdrawn its
endorsement of Arnold for Governor over recent allegations of misconduct and
Hitler admiration quotes attributed to ABC News October 2, Gandhi's
birthday.

What does Jerry Brown have to say now about Arnold Schwarzenegger for
Governor?

As a schooled Jesuit, and as a zen practitioner, what does Jerry think of
the argument that NAACP boss charges Schwarzenegger was influenced by Nazi
past of father, Gustav Schwarzenegger member of the SA, a brutal Nazi
paramilitary group; ie, could such influence on him growing up not impart
Nazi racist attitudes in Arnold as evidenced by his first target in recall
election being Californian Indian tribes on the gambling issue like Hitler
first started targeting the weakest people perceived in Germany to have an
"economic advantage."

Asked who his heroes are, he answered, "I admired Hitler, for instance,
because he came from being a little man with almost no formal education,
up to power. I admire him for being such a good public speaker and for
what he did with it." He is quoted as saying he wished he could have an
experience, "like Hitler in the Nuremberg stadium. And have all those
people scream at you and just being total agreement whatever you say."
