Although Dailey is not accused of sexual misconduct, the lawsuit makes a startling new claim; that Dailey played a shell-game with predatory priests. Moving them from parish to parish, in order, "... to deprive plaintiffs of the facts neecessary to establish claims ... for misconduct, until the applicable statutes of limitations had expired ...". Some of the victims in this case went on to become alcoholics and drug abusers, one of them even committed suicide. 'Police, clergy' in pedophile ring By Scott Emerson 10/6/03 "Child abuse campaigner Hetty Johnston warned yesterday there could be a pedophile ring based in the Queensland Families Department as a senior officer was stood aside amid allegations of sexual abuse in a foster-family....In her submission to be handed today to the Crime and Misconduct Commission, which is examining the abuse allegations, Ms Johnston says the corruption watchdog should investigate the possible existence of a child-sex ring in the department. "It is quite possible that is going on but we just don't know and that is why we need a royal commission," she said. "We know a lot of perpetrators are police officers, they are clergy and of course they could also be Family Services workers. Seven held in child sex abuse raids John Ross 10/4/03 "Six men and a woman are expected to appear in court in Stornoway on Monday, after police carried out a series of dawn raids on houses in England and Scotland as part of a nationwide child abuse investigation centred on the Western Isles. Simultaneous swoops were held in Lewis and in three English counties - Dorset, Leicestershire and West Yorkshire - during a carefully co-ordinated exercise involving social workers and four police forces. Eleven men and women were detained in the raids, eight of them in the areas of Ness and Lochs, near Stornoway. Four were later released. The remaining seven were charged by officers from Northern Constabulary, which is taking the lead in the investigation. They are understood to have originally come from England. The force later confirmed they are due to appear in court on Monday, when it is understood they will face charges under the Child Protection Act. 16 Accused of Sexual Assault at Air Force Academy Still on Active Military Duty By Robert Weller 10/4/03 Denver (AP) "Sixteen Air Force Academy graduates accused of rape or sexual assault while attending the school are still on active duty in the U.S. military, the Air Force said. A total of 18 cadets accused of sex crimes between 1993 and 2002 were allowed to graduate, Lt. Col. Concerns 'known' on pedophile cook 9/30/03 Melbourne "Church knew a volunteer cook was a paedophile before he engaged in sex acts with a 12-year-old boy on its youth camp, a court was told today. Peter Emmet Cass, 53, of Heidelberg, was committed to stand trial on nine child sex charges including indecent acts and sexual penetration. The former Epping Assembly of God church member is also accused of threatening to kill the teenager if he ever revealed the alleged attacks.
