Subject: [FUTURE-CITIES] Campbell-Martin Contribution to the Global
Holocaust
Could a Sovereign and Independent Haida Nation offer Canadians a better
deal? Would it honour International Human Rights as the governments of BC
and Canada refuse to do? Don't forget that the Indian people in the
southern parts of the Western Hemisphere are dying every day because of
the violators of these human rights. Campbell, Martin et al are doing all
they can to bring this GLOBAL HOLOCAUST to a neighbourhood near you.
As Michael Campbell wrote in a recent Vancouver Sun column, there aren't
many people who care about the poor of the world and that is why this
genocide is taking place. Haida Nation can offer a better alternative and
it is that offer which is important right now. Given that Canadians could
become emigres to a Sovereign and Independent Haida Nation, what other
conditions might we find in Haida Nation? What would a Haida City be like
compared to a typical pollution-ridden city in Canada like Vancouver where
~30 people die every year from traffic fatalities and ordinary people
of average means cannot even dream of home ownership?

Subject: [CITIZENS_ASSEMBLY] Re: [pr-x] Low income British Columbians cant
afford to buy healthy food
Mary Robinson was interviewed on Enviro Mental, NewVI TV, last night. She
said, among other things that "access to food is a right". Indeed the
various necessities of life are listed in Article 25 of the Universal
Declaration of Human Rights to which Canada is signatory. Neither Premier
Campbell nor soon-to-be Prime Minister Martin believe, however, that
society at large has any duty, obligation or commitment to provide these
necessities of life. In other words, the legalistic word game is invoked:
Yes you have a right to food etc. but YOU have the responsibility for
accessing it and society at large has no such responsibility.
Given that, what Campbell and Martin are saying is that if poor people are
perishing for want of food and other necessities, society at large has no
commitment toward providing such necessities of life and THESE PEOPLE CAN
DIE if that is the outcome. So let's cut to the chase and get past the
legalistic casuistry. It translates fairly as POOR PEOPLE CAN LEGALLY BE
ISSUED A DEATH SENTENCE BY SOCIETY AT LARGE. In Canada, no other
identifiable group can be legally executed. Marginalized groups may be
put at risk by social policies but not executed. Even Campbell and Martin
could not liquidate the drug addicts or prostitutes in Canada. But they
CAN participate in the liquidation of these people once they are
impoverished.
If anyone doubts this, just get a fearless media interviewer like Rafe
Mair to ask Campbell and Martin directly:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Does society at large have any commitment, duty or obligation to provide
food and other necessities of life to the poor of BC and Canada, or can
these people be issued a death sentence by being allowed to die from want
of these necessities?
Is this JUSTICE? Such people have committed no crime.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
By their evasion, you will know the answer. And because of the powers who
back their political philosophy, the CTV and CBCTV ads repeat their tragic
story: some 30,000 children on this planet perish every day for lack of
food and other necessities and Canada can be expected to some day
contribute to such statistics. It only takes a few more years of
Campbell-Martin politics. But wouldn't it be wonderful to have a BC and
Canadian leader to shore up Article 25 and LEAD the rest of the world in
saying that the de facto genocide against the poor of the world stops
right here. Poor people cannot be justly executed en masse just for being
poor.
