This email is not
just for Nebraskans, even though they might find it peculiarly
interesting.
The letter at the
link below is a short read compared to it's importance. It
was authored by our Nation's finest and
most effective Citizen, Mr. Ralph Nader.
Mr. Nader's letter is both extremely important as well
as educational to all of us that know we have not yet even begun
to repair the (now ongoing), severely damaging effects caused
by ENRON and (now other companies that are still poised) to gain incomprehensible
profits, using the same electrical-grids that were (entirely) paid for with
our tax-dollars and absolutely (NO) business-investment on the part of those
companies which, as in the recent example set by ENRON, now wish to transfer
huge amounts of current around (whenever and wherever
feasible for them) so they can once again exact
their self-enriching, unnecessary profits out of the very same
citizenry that paid for the (grid) in the first place. Why should we
be willing to PAY?.. (ANY) of these
companies desiring to position themselves right in (The Middle)
of these transactions?
One company (Berkshire
Hathaway) will even (INVEST?) up
to $15 Billion Dollars in our country’s troubled electric utility sector...
(with just one minor caveat), which is that, as a
prerequisite to their (investment?), Berkshire Hathaway and their surrogates are
forcefully advocating that
Congress repeal? the Public Utility
Holding Company Act
(PUHCA).
Ya'll don't s'pose that company plans on
getting their $FIFTEEN BILLION DOLLAR (Investment?) back before long
anyway now do you?.. along with A $FEW DOZEN-BILLION DOLLARS (or
more) stripped right-on out of our pockets for
(their?) efforts?
Our nation's
electrical-grids weren't designed to bear the stress of these current-loads
and simply will not take the stress. The recent blackouts are a good
example, but only minor in comparison to what will happen on a Nationwide basis
if Congress repeals the 1935 (PUHCA.)

plumbing the depths of greed & avarice at
Dante's Inferno & Casual-Day-Spa !
(At Our
Expense)
Something's just not right with the operating equation
here and Berkshire-Hathaway is hardly alone in this "highly questionable"
maneuvering. If enough Congress (persons) allow their palms to be
lubricated into this heinous repeal of the PUHCA,
it will create an economic collapse not only for U.S.
Taxpayers but citizens of many other nations as well.
No, it
will not as seriously affect the sensuously-well-insulated executives
responsible for the resulting chaos, and it will be too late (for us) to do
anything about it at such a time... other than what our Nation initially decided
to do about it after the collapse of our economy following the
1929 Stock Market Crash by passing the PUHCA into law in 1935 so
that we would have the security of knowing that revenues earned by our utility
companies would not be gambled-away upon speculative,
non-utility related investments from then on... that is, until 68
years later, in 2003 or 2004.
