Well, we (the U.S.) seem to have decided not to bother with the Geneva Conventions; however I wonder if the powers that be realize just what a pool of hatred they are filling.  The Turks know that Ataturk loved his country and his people.  The man has been dead for many, many years.  There is still a percentage of the Turks who hold it against him that in some cases he closed the religious schools, forbade religious observances and in the case of the Kurds whom he respected utterly for their fighting abilities, they have never forgiven him for separating the clans.  Now imagine how other Middle Easteners might feel about a people who are killing them, dishonoring them, and destroying their property.  It may be that no American will ever again be safe when traveling out of the country, and even here at home there might be some problem.  www.ctrl.org DECLARATION & DISCLAIMER ========== CTRL is a discussion & informational exchange list.
