Boeing Payoff to Richard Perle - Trireme
Revealed

 Crony capitalist Richard "Prince of
Darkness" Perle just can't get enough of that Corporate-Government trough.
In March, Perle resigned as chairman of the Pentagon's Defense
Policy Board after questions were raised about his lobbying efforts on
behalf of disgraced and fraud-riddled Global Crossing and Loral.
In December, it was revealed that Perle lobbied on behalf of
Boeing for an $18 billion government contract to provide tankers to the
Pentagon. In exchange, Boeing made a $20 million "investment" in Perle's
so-called venture capital/ slush fund called Trireme
Partners.
Perle, a connected longtime Bush Cabalist, is also on the
board of directors of Hollinger International Inc., the media firm whose
chief executive, Conrad Black, resigned last month after it was revealed
that Black and his cohorts were skimming millions of dollars from
corporate coffers.
Coincidentally Hollinger also revealed that it
"invested" $2.5 million in Trireme Associates.
Perle's
disingenuous August column in the Wall Street Journal argued for the
Boeing deal, in which the Air Force would lease 100
tankers.
It was not disclosed that Perle had a substantial financial
commitment from Boeing to publicly promote the project.
In the WSJ
promo disguised as an op-ed piece, Perle and Thomas Donnelly, both members
of the Bush Cabalist American Enterprise Institute whined that the deal
was being held up.
Perle never disclosed the fact that Boeing had
"invested" $20 million in mid-2002 in Trireme Partners, one of the largest
early stakes taken in the fund.
According to the Financial Times,
Perle denied his role in the payoff, saying "that Trireme's relationship
with Boeing was handled by Gerald Hillman, a partner in the fund, who is
also a Defence Policy Board member."
Meanwhile, Boeing dismissed
two executives for "misconduct" in this proposed $20 billion contract for
tanker aircraft.
On Nov. 24, Boeing fired Michael Sears, the chief
financial officer, and Darleen Druyun, a vice president, who was the chief
air force negotiator on the project before joining Boeing last
January.
On December 1, Philip Condit, Boeing's chief executive,
resigned.
Does Richard Perle get to keep his millions in payoff
loot?
There have been no indictments yet. The Prince of Darkness
still walks
