Sunday April 18, 4:10 PM "Waco" Explodes on HBO "Waco: The Rules of Engagement," the acclaimed documentary about the worst government atrocity in American history, makes its small-screen debut Monday night on cable and satellite TV's Home Box Office. For Americans who've become convinced that character and integrity in high places no longer matter, "Waco" is an historic bit of must-see-TV. Though the press adopted the party line after Clinton AG Janet Reno launched a military-style attack on worshippers at the Branch Davidian compound, the nation has never recovered from the after-effects of the massacre. Twenty-five children were barbecued to death on the Clinton administration's direct orders, and not a single government official was ever held accountable. Now, for the first time, a mass audience can judge for themselves -- based on facts and testimony the American media have suppressed for six years. Certainly the reviewers were impressed when "Waco" was first released in 1997. "One of the top 10 films of the year," raved the Los Angeles Times. "['Waco' reveals] photographic evidence that the FBI, contrary to its official assertions, fired on, then torched the Branch Davidian compound. A duzy of an investigative expose," exclaimed the New York Times. Even movie-meisters Gene Siskel and Roger Ebert gave "Waco" an enthusiastic, if somewhat stunned, two thumbs up.
