-Caveat Lector-
Go a little further back to try to figure out what allowed the stock market to climb to its peak.  What is capitalism?  What is "capitl" itself?  Read Adam Smith and Karl Marx.  Capital is a pool of money over and above what is needed for necessities.  Capitalism did not exist before the merchant adventurers began their triangular trading -- discovering spices in Indonesia and opium in India.  The descendants of these traders are still in charge of the excess capital that is used to finance IPO's.  They used to call themselves wholesale merchants during American frontier days.  Then they changed their appellation to "private bankers," and now they call themselves "investment bankers" or "venture capitalists."

They learned shortly after WWII to demand a percentage of the new stock on every IPO they issued.  It only takes about 5% or even less of a public stock to have control.  Under SEC rules, only 5% or more has to be reported.  So if they form a consortium of "private bankers" whose expertise lies in laundering dirty money, the team, such as Skull and Bones or other elite secret societies who have control of Harvard Endowment, etc., can control the entire market secretly, without their ownership interest showing up in reports.  They don't want to crash the entire market.  They do "pump and dump," before getting out of any individual stock--usually after setting up a dumb patsy who doesn't know the rules of the secret game.

It is my belief that these cliques of "children,"  often the "scions" of elite, wealthy families who have been playing this capitalistic form of Monopoly for many generations, feel that their Daddies will protect them to save the family name.  They also know that all the patsies out there in the smaller towns and cities who network with them in their enterprise for a small (1 or 2% of the profit) also don't want their "good" names smeared.  It is that craving for prestige that continues the cycle.

We have to be willing to change the rules.  We have to be willing to bring the whole pension scheme down around our ankles--having the faith in God and in true goodness to know that, as Catherine Fitts is wont to proclaim:  "If we can face it, God can fix it."

Do the numbers and ask yourself where the money is going to come from to put us Baby Boomers in nursing home care in the next 20 years.  Of course the books are cooked.  Let us look at the books so we can make informed decisions about how to spend the money, and where the money should come from.  Sometimes I think the American people act like teenagers, constantly demanding more and more from the government without a thought to where that money comes from.  We have been spoiled too long.  It's time we took over the books and examined the cash flows and expenses for ourselves.  Kick out Skull and Bones accounting.Linda

VMANN:  its going to come from the extreme devaluation of the dollar.  how do you let all those boomers withdraw their pensions without the stock market crashing?  easy, just hyperinflate the freakin dollar.  this will, in effect, steal all the wealth these people worked their entire lives to save.
at least it will help all the people drowning in freakin debt.  what do you think about this, bob?
