This document is quite long and will get longer as it is updated. I
strongly suggest that you copy it to a floppy disk, as a text file, and
open it for reading off line in you word processor. I also suggest that you
retain the copy for future use and reference.
Since January 1993, I have been totally immersed in monitoring the
restructuring of our public education system here in America. But for the
most part I have been monitoring that restructuring from a perspective
quite different than most other Americans who are also concerned about the
restructuring.
While I am very interested in and concerned about, the "academic" aspects
of the restructuring such as reading, writing and arithmetic, I am more
concerned about the restructuring from an "intelligence" perspective, like
"military intelligence" for example. Let me explain it this way. For better
than 24 years beginning as far back as the early1950's I was involved in
designing and installing electronic (ADP/EDP) information collection and
processing systems for the several military departments, the Air Force,
Navy, Army, the JCS and the DoD including President John F. Kennedy's
Battle Staff (BST7).
In addition to the very intensive technical training conducted by IBM on
the dada processing equipment (ADP/EDP) of that time, a select few of us
were also subjected to some very intensive training, within the Department
of Defense. That special training was related to the "kind of information"
that we would be designing and installing processing systems for. This
additional, highly classified and technical, training addressed the
imbedded "philosophical and psychological doctrine" of communism and it's
threat to our democratic way of life.
During the course of the past few years, beginning in January 1993, while
putting all the many pieces (programs) of the education restructuring
puzzle in their proper place as they relate to each other, I realized that
the restructuring of our public education system was proceeding in a very
different direction than that which most people were being led to believe.
Misleading the masses was, and still is, easy to do since there are so many
different but yet related programs involved. The average citizen is
untrained in the arts and skills of information collection, processing and
analysis and thus has absolutely no idea of what is actually taking place
within the restructuring and where the restructuring is actually leading
to. .
In an attempt to very briefly and generally explain "where" the
restructuring of our public school system is really leading to, I invite
your attention to several statements found in one of the Department of
Defense (DOD) text books (which I still have) that was used in the special
training (noted above) that I received relative to the "kind of
information" we were designing and installing ADP/EDP systems to collect
and process. The following quotes are taken from "The Two Ways of Life, The
Communist Challenge to Democracy" (DoD DEN-9) (DA Pam 360-510) (NAVPERS
15204) (AFP 190-1-1)
Quote # 1, "DoD Introduction, page 3, par 3: "In the totalitarian way of
life, there are no "inalienable rights" of man which the state is not
allowed to touch. Totalitarianism wants all of man, his body and soul, and
there is no human activity - political, economic, social, religious, or
educational - that is allowed to escape government control. In addition to
not recognizing any limits to its goals, it recognizes no limits to the
means it is prepared to use to attain them: Propaganda, imprisonment,
terror, slave labor, brainwashing, and even the destruction of entire
nations (genocide)."
Quote # 2, page 69, par 4: "The totalitarian society seeks to destroy
whatever individuality exists in man by transforming him into an
insignificant atom of the mass. Totalitarianism is therefore hostile to
individuals pursuing their own private and personal goals. It reduces man
to a member of one vast whole - the "Nordic master race" under Nazism, the
"glorious proletariat under communism. Whereas democratic civilization
seeks progress through individuality, totalitarianism seeks to accomplish
its ends through conformity."
Quote # 3, page 77, par 1: "Totalitarian societies consider the school as a
training ground for service to the state; the main task of the teacher is
to implant discipline and order in the minds of the pupils. The teacher
possesses no freedom of thought or speech, and he must teach the children
whatever is the official doctrine of the ruling party."
Quote # 4, page 77, par 3: "This totalitarian approach to education allows
no room for parents or teachers to influence policy."
Quote # 5, page 332, par 2: "Communism asserts that the average person is
incapable of ruling himself and making the right and wise choice between
the many alternatives that constantly face him. According to Communist
theory and practice, only a small minority of the people - the Communist
party - knows what is best for everybody and for the whole country. If the
majority does not agree with the Communist minority, then propaganda is
supplemented by force and terror to make the decisions of the ruling
minority stick."
Quote # 6, page 334, par 4: "As we have seen earlier, the aim of Communist
education is not the mind, free of ignorance and prejudice, but the
state-directed conformist who always does as he is told. The purpose of
Communist education is the powerful state, whereas the purpose of
democratic education is the free man."
Given the above very brief overview of what the totalitarian [communist]
approach to public education is really all about, we are now challenged to
recognize just how precisely our "democratic" approach to public education
is presently being restructured to conform to the totalitarian or communist
approach to public education. Following is a presentation of the "Communist
Goals in the U.S. Public Education System", as recorded in the
congressional record. The Christian Alert Network will add to each
individual goal, actual proof of the fact that goal has already been
reached or is presently being accomplished.

COMMUNIST GOALS IN THE U.S. PUBLIC EDUCATION SYSTEM

Goal # 11: Promote the United Nations as the only hope for mankind. If its
charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one-world government
with its own independent armed forces.
Proof # 1: U. N. One World Government: Kofi Annan's appointee Maurice
Strong has emerged as the human link in the intricate network of UN
agencies seeking global control. He was a member of the UN-funded
Commission on Global Governance, whose 1995 report, "Our Global
Neighborhood," recommended removing U.S. veto power in the Security
Council, creating an Economic Security Council to oversee the world's
economy, changing the World Bank into a central bank like the Federal
Reserve, establishing an international court superior to U.S. courts,
creating a permanent UN standing army while disarming all nations and
individuals, establishing a global taxation system, giving the UN control
over the "global commons" (the air, the oceans and outer space), and
creating a parliamentary body of "civil society" made up of
Non-Governmental Organizations called NGOs (private pressure groups).
Proof # 2: U. N. World Court, July 17, 1998: The United Nations is
currently putting the finishing touches on plans to create a new
"International Criminal Court" (ICC). With tentative approval from the U.S.
Senate and the American Bar Association, the proposed court would subject
American citizens to the jurisdiction of foreign judges. Individuals will
be prosecuted by the new world body for crimes such as genocide, crimes
against humanity and war crimes. Opponents of the ICC say the proposed
court will eventually enforce the liberal social policies of the UN, like
population control and redistribution of wealth. In fact, negotiations are
underway now to make "enforced pregnancy" an international crime. This
would make it "illegal" to deny a woman abortion on demand anywhere in the
world. Since the United States is a sovereign nation, its citizens would
only have to appear before the world body if our government leaders
cooperate. Despite mounting opposition to a world court, the U.S. Senate
voted 55 to 45 to continue procedures in the establishment of the ICC
within the UN system. Not surprisingly, the Clinton administration is
strongly supporting the efforts of the plan. ROME, June 17 (LSN) Canada
leads push for U. N. "Human Rights" through international criminal court.
Canada has emerged as a leader in the push for the most radical version of
an International Criminal Court (ICC), demanding a world power with
universal, unchecked jurisdiction. According to this view, the court would
act to stamp out any discrepancy with the United Nations' version of "human
rights" including the "crime" of "enforced pregnancy," or the lack of
abortion on demand.
Proof # 3: U. N. Army: April 23, 1998. White House backs standby U. N.
army. Congressional officials are investigating $200,000 the Clinton
administration gave the United Nations last fall as seed money to mobilize
a worldwide standby army for peacekeeping operations. The U. S.
contribution, given quietly last September, was the first voluntary
donation to establish a $2.3 million U. N. trust fund to finance the new U.
N. military operation called the Rapidly Deployable Mission Headquarters
(RDMHQ), according to sources close to Bernard Miyet, U. N.
undersecretary-general for peacekeeping operations. The United Nations
already has signed "standby agreements" with 72 countries that "have agreed
to provide to the U. N. troops or capabilities --- infantry battalions,
engineers, artillery, medical, logistical support and air transport," a U.
N. official said. Sources said organizers of the rapid-deployment operation
hoped its eight-member command structure would be appointed and ready at U.
N. headquarters in New York for its first assignment in the Central African
Republic, where the Security Council last week authorized a new
peacekeeping mission as France pulls out troops stationed in the unstable
country for many years. Security Council authorized 1,350 U. N. troops and
an initial $38 million budget for the African operation's first six months.
The expected U.S. share would be $9.5 million, or 25 percent. Office of U.
N. spokesman Fred Eckhard referred inquiries to Lt. Col. Bernard Saunders,
a Canadian army officer on loan to organize the RDMHQ and recruit the
eight-member command unit in New York. The United Nations is creating the
"equivalent" of a standing army with U.S. support, said Thomas G. Moore,
director of international studies at the Heritage Foundation and former
defense adviser to Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Strom Thurmond,
South Carolina Republican.

1997. SECURITY COUNCIL ENCOURAGES STATES TO MAKE TRAINED CIVILIAN POLICE
AVAILABLE AT SHORT NOTICE FOR UNITED NATIONS OPERATIONS
Presidential Statement Encourages Secretary-General To Promote Standardized
Approach to Such Training, Recruitment Noting the increasing role and
special functions of civilian police in United Nations peace-keeping
operations, the Security Council this morning encouraged States to make
appropriately trained police available to the Organization at short notice,
if possible through stand-by arrangements. It also encouraged the
Secretary-General to guide States, in order to promote a standardized
approached to the training and recruitment of civilian police.
"The Security Council considers that in operations mandated by the Security
Council or the General Assembly the civilian police perform indispensable
functions in monitoring and training national police forces and can play a
major role, through assistance to local police forces, in restoring civil
order, supporting the rule of law and fostering civil reconciliation. It
sees an increasingly important role for civilian police, among others, in
contributing to the building of confidence and security between parties and
among local populations, in order to prevent conflict, to contain conflict
or to build peace in the aftermath of conflict.

Goal # 16: Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American
institutions by claiming their activities violate civil rights.
Proof # 1: June 9, 1998, Court Overturns Pedophile Sentencing Because Judge
Read From Bible. On June 9th the Nebraska Supreme Court overturned the jail
sentencing of a Sarpy County man convicted of pedophilia because the judge
read a Bible passage at the man's sentencing. Aaron T. Pattno, a
25-year-old homosexual, plead guilty in August of 1997 to sexually
assaulting a 13 year old boy he met through a 'chat' room on the Internet.
During sentencing on October 31,
1997, the Sarpy County District Judge George A. Thompson read an excerpt of
Romans 1. In part, this excerpt read, "For this reason, God gave them up to
dishonorable passions. Their women exchanged natural relations for
unnatural, and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and
were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts
with men.." Pattno was then sentenced to not less than 20 months' nor more
than 5 years' imprisonment.
Attorney General Don Stenberg stated "It is a sad day in America when a
25-year-old pedophile who repeatedly sexually molested a 13-year-old child
must be re-sentenced because the trial judge quoted the Bible." Stenberg
went on to say that the high court's opinion is tantamount to imposing a
requirement of no-nreligion for Nebraska's judges. The Supreme Court
chamber is adorned with a permanent representation of the Ten commandments,
as is the exterior of the state capitol. Stenberg commented, "'One can only
wonder whether the day is far off when workmen will be sent to chisel these
recognition's of religious belief from the halls and walls of our state
Capitol building."
A search of Pattno's home following his arrest disclosed pornographic
material on the hard drive of his computer showing males, some teenagers,
in erotic poses. Pattno had participated in a Big Brother/Big Sister
program; worked for the Latch Key Program for the bicounty YMCA in
Belleville, Illinois; and taught seventh graders in a religious education
program.

Goal # 17: Get control of schools. Use them as transmission belts for
Socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get
control of the teachers associations. Put the party line in the textbooks.

Goal # 22. Continue to discredit American culture by degrading all forms of
artistic expression. [ Example: An American Communist cell was told to
eliminate all good sculptures from parks and buildings, substitute
shapeless, awkward and meaningless forms.]

Goal # 24: Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them
censorship and violation of free speech and free press.

Goal # 25. Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting
pornography and obscenity in books; magazines, motion pictures, radio and
TV.
Proof # 1: June 27, 1998, The Manhattan Theatre Company (MTC) of New York,
a recipient of funding from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), has
decided to produce a play depicting Christ as a homosexual who has sexual
relations with his 12 disciples. The play, Corpus Christi, portrays the
life of a Jesus who is crucified as the "King of Queers." Terrence McNally,
the play's creator and a board member of the MTC, makes no effort to
conceal his contempt for Christians by ending his draft with, "If we have
offended, so be it. He belongs to us as well as to you."
The MTC, one of New York City's premier theater companies, was awarded
$80,000 of taxpayers' money by the NEA for the 1997-98 fiscal year. The
money was to be used specifically for the creation of new and innovative
plays.
The NEA has also funded such projects as the exhibits of Robert
Mapplethorpe's homoerotic photographs and Andres Serrano's "Piss Christ," a
photograph of a crucifix immersed in the artist's urine.

Goal # 26: Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "Normal,
natural, health."
Proof # 1: May 28, 1998, President WILLIAM J. CLINTON signs amendment to
Executive Order 11478 which reads as follows:
By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws
of the United States, and in order to provide for a uniform policy for the
Federal Government to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation,
it is hereby ordered that Executive Order 11478, as amended, is further
amended as follows:
Section 1. The first sentence of section 1 is amended by substituting "age,
or sexual orientation" for "or age".
Sec. 2. The second sentence of section 1 is amended by striking the period
and adding at the end of the sentence ", to the extent permitted by law.".
Proof # 2: June 1998. U.S. Congressman Barney Frank (D-Mass) a practicing
homosexual seeks to undermine the "Holiness of the Christian Family" by
introducing a bill, HR 2761, that would extend benefits to homosexuals, and
heterosexuals that are living together out of wedlock, that are now
available to married government employees and retirees.
Proof # 3: June 1, 1998 Washington State University invites "children" to
homosexual conference. Directors of the Washington Conservative Caucus
reacted sharply upon learning that Washington State University invited
junior high students from around the state to participate in a three-day
conference on homosexuality described by the university as "kind of a Camp
Queer experience." The WSU homosexual conference was planned for June 19-21
and targets "Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transsexual", and "Questioning" high
school and junior high students. WSU confirmed this "Camp Queer experience"
was a WSU program rather than a student body program. The university
advertised the camp by email and by sending flyers to schools and youth
agencies, and stated "we ... hope to attract as many junior high- and
high-school aged youth from the Pacific Northwest.
"This is so bizarre it is beyond belief", said Rep. Bob Sump (R-Republic).
"It is completely reprehensible for WSU to be inviting children to the
university for a public celebration of immorality."
None of this surprises Senator Val Stevens (R-Arlington). "We have always
known that recruitment of children into the lifestyle was central to the
homosexual agenda," said Stevens. "But they have always denied it. Here is
the smoking pistol of the Big Lie."
"Utterly amazing," agreed WCC chairman, John Koster (R-Monroe), "If I
hadn't seen the email announcement myself, I couldn't believe that
Washington State University could sink this low.
Sen. Harold Hochstatter (R-Moses Lake) added "I am simply astonished that
the university would promote this lethal lifestyle.
Proof # 4: Chartered in 1964 by Dr. Mary S. Calderone the "Sex Information
and Education Council of The United States (SEICUS), works "to establish
man's sexuality as a health entity." To accomplish this goal their plan was
to; expand the scope of sex education to all age levels and groups and to
provide among other things indications as to how constructive altitudes can
be developed about such areas as, sex in the aging, premarital sex and
homosexuality. In October 1991 SEICUS unveiled its guidelines for sex
education entitled "Guidelines for Comprehensive Sexuality Education:
Kindergarten - 12 Grade. SIECUS publications and writings support the
following; the use of pornography, premarital sex, homosexuality,
dispensing contraception to minors without parental consent, sex education
for all ages and abortion on demand.
Proof # 5: June 8, 1998. Memo issued this week by Secretary Bruce Babbitt,
to every employee of the U. S. Department of Interior: "In honor of the
accomplishments of Gay, Lesbian and Bisexual individuals, I call upon all
managers, supervisors and employees to observe this month with appropriate
ceremonies, activities and/or programs that raise the awareness of Gay and
Lesbian individuals."
Proof # 6: GAY FLICK SICKENS KIDS' MINDS: The cameras go into classrooms at
PS 87 in Manhattan and five other schools in Massachusetts, California and
Wisconsin to show that it's already being taught across the country.
The long and controversial campaign to brainwash public school children
into accepting homosexuality as a natural, normal alternative lifestyle is
proceeding at full blast. The latest promotion gimmick being distributed to
schools nationwide is a 78-minute documentary crafted by two lesbians
titled "It's Elementary - Talking About Gay Issues in School." Its purpose
is to show teachers how to promote discussion and acceptance of
homosexuality in the classroom.
Following are some of the film's shocking contents:
* First- and second-graders - children so young they clearly do not even
know what sexuality is - are given the full treatment about gays, lesbians
and bisexuals.
* Children are encouraged to express their concept of gays and where they
formed it - a flagrant intrusion on a child's privacy and a sly tactic to
discover what parents might be anti-gay.
* Prodded by a gay teacher, children eagerly approve of gay marriage.
* Those who do not embrace the gay agenda are depicted as cruel homophobes,
bigots and haters.
* The word AIDS is never mentioned, and at no point in the documentary is
the morality of homosexuality even raised, much less discussed.
Dr. Howard Hurwitz, head of the Family Defense Council and a former
public-school principal, viewed the film and said, "Never in my 50 years of
experience in the schools have I seen so scandalous a plan for
indoctrinating children. "It is an assault on common decency and
traditional family values." It is just 78-minutes of relentless propaganda
to advance the acceptance of homosexuality, as distinct from tolerance.

Goal # 27. Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with
"social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for
intellectual maturity which does not need a religious "crutch."
Proof # 1: HOW "RED" ARE THE TRANSLATORS OF THE REVISED STANDARD VERSION
(RSV) OF THE BIBLE?
Several "operative statements" are noted in Goal # 27. Of those several, we
note two "primary operative statements." The first statement is "Infiltrate
the churches" and the second operative statement is "Discredit the Bible"
To fully understand the response to those two "operative statements" the
reader must first be aware of the following three facts.
Fact # 1: (Luke 16:13 KJV) No servant can serve two masters for either he
will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and
despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Fact # 2: (Matthew 7:15-18 KJV) Beware of false prophets, which come to you
in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know
them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree
bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit,
neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Fact # 3: The tenets of Christianity and Communism are at opposite ends of
the pole, and therefore are not compatible and cannot successfully
co-exist.
Given the "three facts" noted above, we can now proceed to examine the
activities and objectives of eight (8) of the men most responsible for
production of the Revised Standard Version (RSV) of the Bible and when we
have completed that examination, the answer to the question noted above
will be more than obvious.
The deplorable communist-front connections of eight of the translators
cannot be lightly dismissed. It will be found that they were active in some
of the most dangerous, and subversive communist organizations extant, which
organizations labored for the advance of communism, the protection of its
agents, and the overthrow of our American institutions. This is very
serious and cannot help but reflect upon the translation these men have
made in the name of the National Council. In fact, it will be seen to
discredit the entire work, since anything coming from men with such
connections cannot help but be open to suspicion and serious doubts.
We give below the records of these men, principally as found in the 1944
report of the House Un-American Activities Committee, entitled,
"Investigation of the Un-American Propaganda Activities in the United
States." The page number in each instance is cited whereon the material may
be found in the above report. The shameful record of these men is as
follows:
As you read the following record it's extremely important that you also
know that these men were involved in crating the Revised Standard Version
of the Bible AND active participants and supporters of the following
organizations and efforts AT THE SAME TIME.
LUTHER A. WEIGLE, Yale University, 1929 - Old Testament and New Testament.
Chairman of the Committee which produced the Revised Standard Version of
the Bible Dr. Weigle's many communist-front connections have been variously
exposed by the House Un-American Activities Committee, the American Council
of Christian Laymen, and John T. Flynn. In "How Red Is The National Council
of Churches?" published by the American Council of Christian Laymen, Dr.
Weigle is exposed as being identified with the following communist-fronts
described as follows:
1. COMMITTEE ON MILITARISM IN EDUCATION: Co-operated with socialist and
communist groups in waging relentless campaign against ROTC and military
training in schools and colleges.
2. COORDINATING COMMITTEE TO LIFT THE (SPANISH) EMBARGO: Cited by the House
Un-American Activities Committee "as one of a number of front
organizations, set up during the Spanish Civil War by the Communist Party
in the United States and through which the Party carried on a great deal of
agitation," pages 133 and 138.
3. NATIONAL RELIGION AND LABOR FOUNDATION: This organization, John T. Flynn
tells us, sent a letter to the President "calling for the socialization of
America." From "J. T. Flynn Replies to His Critics."
4. NORTH AMERICAN COMMITTEE TO AID SPANISH DEMOCRACY: Cited as communist by
Attorney General in 1949. Cited as a communist front by the house
Un-American Activities Committees, 1940, 1944, and Committee on Un-American
Activities of the California Legislature, 1948. This organization is also
charged by others with having raised millions of dollars to help the
communists fighting in Spain to buy bullets and other war materials. It is
also charged by the Massachusetts House Committee on Un-American
Activities, 1938 report, with having received funds raised by the Communist
Party.
5. SIGNER OF "WORLD TOMORROW POLL which "Voted in favor of socialism, a
drastic increase in inheritance and income taxes, a 'cooperative
commonwealth' instead of capitalism." From "How Red is the National Council
of Churches?"
6. WAR RESISTERS LEAGUE: "American affiliate of the revolutionary
socialist-communist War Resisters International. Its pledge for enrollment
says: 'I declare it to be my intention never to take part in war, offensive
or defensive, international or civil, whether it be by bearing arms, making
or handling munitions, voluntarily subscribing to war loans, or using my
labor for the purpose of setting others free for war service.'
One of its slogans is: 'To unite men and women who have determined to give
no support to any war, irrespective of the reasons.' 'The League
co-sponsors numerous communist-controlled movements and programs of
communist-dominated organizations."

HENRY J. CADBURY, Harvard University, 1930 - New Testament
1. SPONSOR OF AMERICAN RESCUE SHIP MISSION: Described by the House
Un-American Activities Committee as follows: "Paul Robeson, member of
Hillman's National Citizen's Political Action Committee, an avowed lover of
communism; was a sponsor of the communist enterprise known as the American
Rescue Ship Mission." The American Rescue Ship Mission was one of the
numerous Communist Party projects which were organized around the Spanish
Civil War. It was administered by the United American Spanish Aid
Committee, pages 491, 492.

JAMES MOFFATT, Union Theological Seminary, 1930 - 1940, Old Testament and

Concerning this organization the House Un-American Activities Committee has
declared: "The overwhelming preponderance of fellow travelers on the
National Committee to Combat Anti-Semitism is convincing proof of the
communist infiltration of the Committee," etc. "There is evidence to
indicate that the National Committee to Combat Anti-Semitism is closely
related to the magazine 'Protestant"' mentioned above, page 1172.

The foregoing citations made by an arm of the Government designated with
the task of protecting America and her cherished institutions from
subversive activity, particularly of the communist variety. These citations
indicate that these translators were affiliated with some of the most
dangerous communist fronts operating in America at that time. And in
certain instances these translators had definite procommunist sympathies,
supported communists abroad even to the extent of helping to provide them
with military supplies. They also defended communists here at home
convicted of perjury and involved in subversion and acts of violence,
sought to give them protection and liberty in promulgating the evil
doctrines of communism, and belonged to organizations which aided the
movement of communist agents. Communism, it must not be forgotten, is noted
for its hatred of God, Christ, the Bible, and Christian morality.
Now the question that faces us is, can such men who were so disloyal to
their nation and so set on aiding the communist enemies of Christianity be
trusted to render an unbiased, accurate, honest and true translation of the
Bible? It is the opinion of this writer and many others that they cannot
and their corrupted translation proves this to be true. All the seminaries
mentioned above in which these men taught were liberal or modernistic
having departed from the Christian faith as did many of the men who made
the translation. These translators were not only guilty of disloyalty to
the American way of life and government, but also disloyal to the Lord
Jesus Christ, the Bible, and the Christian faith. The translators of the
RSV discovered that their translation put them in the company of some of
the worst blasphemers the world has ever seen. This being true, we are
inclined to believe that no true, loyal servant of the Lord Jesus Christ
will want to supplant the KJV Bible with the RSV.
While Christ was on earth His Jewish enemies cast aspersion at His
paternity when they declared, "Where is thy father?" (John 8:19), and also,
"We be not born of fornication" (John 8:41), intimating that He was. His
reply to these first century columniators was threefold. First, "I
proceeded forth and came from God" (John 8:42), which certainly in the
light of His other statements cannot be explained apart from His
per-existence, incarnation, and virgin birth. Second, "Ye are of your
father the devil and the lusts of your father ye will do" (John 8:44),
which is just as applicable to twentieth century columniators. Third, "For
if ye believe not that I am" (not "I am he"), "Ye shall die in your sins"
(John 8:24). He means here that He is Jehovah God as in John 8:58. This
reply in John 8:24 has a twofold significance. First, unless He is all that
He claims, we have no Saviour. Second, unless we believe in Him as the
eternal Son of God, supernaturally conceived, virgin born, and sinless,
truly Jehovah God, we shall die in our sins and as such go out into
eternity as lost souls forever. This is something for the translators of
the RSV and all others who deny our Lord's full deity and virgin birth to
think about. Truly they have placed themselves in a most unenviable
position.
There is a very sinister fact confronting Christendom in all this, which is
a dire omen of what to expect in the future if the RSV is ever generally
accepted. Until the National Council of Churches released its RSV, which
competent evangelical Hebrew and Greek scholars have proven to be a
perverted, corrupted translation, inaccurate and untrustworthy in many
places, modernistic unbelief had no authorized Bible to quote from in
support of its blatant and Scripturally unsupported denial of the unique
and eternal Sonship of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth and full
deity, nor their denial of the Bible as being verbally inspired by God,
infallible and inerrant.
Now modernistic unbelief has such a Bible in the RSV text which the
translators have so corrupted and deliberately made so contradictory that
the unity of their Bible has been destroyed and all the aforementioned
sacred doctrines' of the faith made a matter of doubt and question, and
this, mark you, right in their own translation. They have, in other words,
poisoned and corrupted the fountainhead of Christian truth. Incidentally,
these are the very tactics Christ-hating, Bible-denying communists pursued
in Russia. Desiring to rear up a new generation whose faith in God and the
Bible would be completely undermined and which would be thoroughly
indoctrinated in the lies of communism, Russian communists rewrote the
textbooks. They filled them with their vicious untruths and poison, with
the result that the present generation in Russia has grown up knowing only
the perverted teachings of communism. . The Christ-denying translators of
the RSV have done much the same thing with the textbook of Christianity.
and the coming generations in the churches that will use it will be imbued
with the doubts and unbelief of its translators. In Tyndale's day it was
the enemies of the evangelical faith who had him burned at the stake for
disseminating the Scriptures among the people. Today it is the enemies of
evangelical Christianity who have translated and are circulating the
corrupted and perverted text of the RSV. An examination of the various
publications written by the translators of the RSV plainly reveals that
they were men who no longer believed in the historic Christian faith. This
was documented by the Rev. Robert L. Sumner in his "The New Bible-An
Appraisal of the RSV."

The virtual evaporation of Christian conviction is one of the most striking
features of postmodern America-and this is certainly most ominous for the
church. The larger culture is now a "theology-free zone" in which Christian
conviction may be tolerated, as long as congregations resemble little more
than special-interest organizations with pretty buildings and religious
entertainment.
What does this mean? Nancy T. Ammerman, a sociologist and researcher at
Hartford Theological Seminary, suggests that we are seeing the rise of a
new form of Christianity in America-"Golden Rule Christianity."
She began her study by looking at "lay liberals," but found that
conservative evangelical congregations also included a large (and growing)
number of Golden Rule Christians. These persons define Christianity not in
terms of beliefs and doctrine, but simply in terms of a basic moral outlook
on life, such as that articulated in the Golden Rule. This new development,
Ms. Ammerman notes, is not really ideological or theological, for it is
occurring in both liberal and evangelical churches. These Golden Rule
Christians define their faith in terms of practices, not doctrines.
Ms. Ammerman found this new faith-style to be what "may in fact be the
dominant form of religiosity among middle-class suburban Americans." That
is, the largest number of persons in American church pews may fall into
this category.
The Golden Rule Christians want to retain at least some connection to
classical Christianity. They want their faith to be "grounded in the Bible,
but certainly not in a literal reading of it." Ms. Ammerman continues:
"Just because they do not accept traditional definitions of inspiration or
inerrancy does not mean that they have no use for Scripture. Like the rest
of their religious life, their use of Scripture is defined more by choices
and practice than by doctrine.... Their knowledge of Scripture may not be
very deep, but they have at least some sense that the Bible is a book worth
taking seriously, especially as a tool for making one's own life and the
life of the world better."
These church members are not interested in "developing a coherent
theological system." Even a matter as basic as salvation "is a bit fuzzy in
their minds." Rather, Golden Rule Christians are concerned with the
development of their personal lives and spirituality, with helping others
to make the world a better place, and with doing good deeds.
Ms. Ammerman and her colleagues are clearly on to something here. Their
description of "lived religion" fits squarely into any honest evaluation of
Christianity in America. As a group, baby boomers are especially attracted
to this low-demand form of religiosity. For many post-secular Americans,
the strange world of the Bible is a place to find compelling stories, not
special and revealed knowledge about the true and living God.
Golden Rule Christianity is inoffensive to the secular culture, making few
demands on its adherents, other than the general principle that they should
treat others as they would wish to be treated. Biblical categories such as
sin and redemption are out. God is our fellow struggler-not the Holy One of
Israel, the Creator of the universe, eternal, omniscient, omnipotent, and
merciful. Jesus Christ is the great religious teacher who preached and
lived the Golden Rule. It is not necessary to believe that he is the
pre-existent Son of God, the Messiah promised to Israel, our
substitutionary Savior.
This surely explains their "fuzzy" understandings of salvation, for, in
their minimalist theological framework, there is no need for atonement.
Like God, presumably, we should go along and get along, and help a few
fellow strugglers along the way.
Ms. Ammerman asks the obvious question. Since the Golden Rule Christians
have given up on traditional Christian doctrine, "could they not be members
of a lodge or community club just as easily as of a church?" She offers two
reasons why they do not. First, because they want to remain in contact with
their friends in the church, many of whom share the same approach to the
faith. Second and more important, argues Ms. Ammerman, "Golden Rule
Christians have not given up on transcendence."
Here again, their understanding is a bit ambiguous: "They were sometimes
rather fuzzy on just what it is they experience, and they sometimes had to
stop and think when we asked, but they almost always came up with answers
to questions about their experience of God." Unfortunately, those answers
often had very little, if anything, to do with the God revealed in the
Bible.
Having lost its doctrinal nerve, American Christianity is not well prepared
to confront Golden Rule Christians with the vacuity of their "lived
religion." They miss the whole for the part, and have created a
pseudo-Christianity in their own image. Wanting to maintain some claim to
transcendence, they are not willing to know and serve the transcendent God
who revealed himself in the Bible-a book they want to take seriously but
not literally.
Without doubt, there are many churches quite willing to offer themselves as
safe meeting grounds for Golden Rule Christians. Golden Rule Christianity
is vestigial Christianity-what is left after you remove the gospel. This
brand of belief is popular precisely because it makes few demands and draws
few distinctions. Authentic Christianity is high-demand and is based upon
critical distinctions.
What we desperately need are more congregations willing to love Golden Rule
Christians enough to confront them with the truth-and to show them the way
to genuine Christian faith.

Gettysburg Address is noted only 1 time and Ulysses S. Grant is noted only
1 time.

Counting just the most common venereal diseases and AIDS, there were
3,838,184 diseases transmitted sexually in 1992. At $80 per case this
represents over $300 million in medical costs. Chlamydia infections 'lead
to pelvic inflammatory disease, infertility and potentially fatal tubal
pregnancy.' According to Dr. Paul Byrne, 'All of this is caused by
promiscuity. All of this disease and suffering can be prevented by having
one sexual partner of the opposite sex after marriage. Think of the dollars
saved by following God's plan.'

benefit from child care services." [State sponsored 'child care centers'

You say; "This could never happen in America" Well think again. Most of the
legislation need to implement and enforce the above articles, is ALREADY IN
PLACE. Dr. Bill Galston, Deputy Assistant to the President for domestic
policy, spoke about the President's timetable on this important issue. He
said they wanted to "move the Convention through expeditiously."
[You would do well to remember, the U.S. Senate ratifies all treaties, and
they don't need your vote to do so.]
