Post ponders Lott-Byrd connection.
The Washington Post (March 24, 1999) has reported that Clinton sent "very
large cigars" to majority leader Trent Lott (R-Miss.) and to Sen. Robert
Byrd (D-W.Va.). He purchased these during his Central American trip.
ShadowGov.com made the unusual pairing of these two, Trent Lott and Robert
Byrd (avoiding Lott�s natural match, minority leader Tom Daschle, D-S.D.)
beginning on February 19. That is when The Wall Street Journal stated that
Clinton�s rape of Juanita Broaddrick "was an event that in fact took place."

Clinton has given Byrd cigars in the past. Washington Post writers Annie
Groer and Ann Gerhart pondered why Clinton would send gifts to these two men
in particular. "As for the Lott connection, well, nobody in the Republican
senator's office even wanted to talk about it," wrote the Anns.
Reporters annoyed senator Trent Lott by asking him about Clinton�s rape of
Broaddrick. According to a Brian Blomquist report for the New York Post,
Feb., 26, 1999, Lott, replied, "Who am I? What difference does it make? ...
You need to be asking the president about that."
23 million Americans watched Juanita Broaddrick on NBC Dateline and the vast
majority of them believe that Clinton raped her. Trent Lott apparently would
rather everyone forget the whole thing. Now is the time to attack the left,
especially regarding Clinton�s rape of Juanita, since TV talk shows are
having trouble getting DemocRatics to publicly defend the president on this
issue, according to the Blomquist article. Each attack on the president for
raping Juanita weakens not only Clinton but all his would-be defenders
including the media, the teachers unions, the Democrats, feminists, radical
environmentalists, the United Nations, Hollywood, abortion-rights groups,
homosexuals, and liberal clergy.
