Mount Trashmore in Michigan has become an election issue. Some are
offended that Canada sends its trash to that state. If Michigan doesn't
want it, send it back. In fact send us all of the trash of America.
In the book, "Future Water", John Sheaffer tells us how Muskegan, Michigan
built a very nice ski hill by putting trash into sealed cells with a liner
beneath the entire hill in case of a leak. Last night, Discovery TV had an
exerpt on how urban trash is compressed into cells to build up land fill
sites. What we need are cargo container sized trash cells so that they can
be sent to us from ports, truck depots, trains etc.
We could use our two most northern cities which are connected to the train
grid as final destinations: Prince Rupert in BC and Churchill in Manitoba.
Call 1-800-USA-RAIL. How high could we build our Mount Trashmores? Miles
for sure. Could we get them high enough to be Space Ports for Scram
Jet/Rocket powered aircraft which would do trans-planetary runs in the
upper atmosphere at 5,000 mph and also make runs to Moonshine City and
back? Maybe.
Nader is supposed to be some kind of ecology expert. What would he say to
a new chain of Winter Cities between Rupert and Churchill to absorb the
annual American net increase of 2-3,000,000? Over 10 years we would have
20-30,000,000 new citizens.
Winter Cities allow people to get from any point to any point without
having to face inclement weather, at their option. They also have little
or no pollution and few or no traffic fatalities. What other criteria
would Nader want in such cities?

PS-Still wondering about making pyramid-shaped (ie stepped) high rises for
our future cities mandatory. Wouldn't they save lives in case of fires and
even earthquakes?
