Subject: [global-citizens] The Mother of all Programs
Yesterday that rare event happened ... an email dropped into a black hole
in cyberspace. I'll resend it.
It was in response to the beginning C language student from Saudi Arabia
on [EMAIL PROTECTED] I advised that he start by
going to the beginning of the F-R archives where he can post the first of
the lessons to the F-R list. Then as he works his way through them, he
should CATEGORIZE WHAT C DOES in Standard Everyday English (SEE) or
Standard Everyday Arabic (SEA).
All of computing is a MENTAL MAZE as we read at
<http://www.geocities.com/machine_psychology>. Chess is also a mental
maze and the Arabic world can give the world another maze game ... a
computing maze game. So I will cc some other lists and we will try to get
a C students study group going among Arab computing students. After all,
President Bush jokes that he was a "C Student".
You don't need a compiler (program) to do this. You need only ONE student
in your group who can "rough out" the menus in English or Arabic. As in
chess, there are ONLY SO MANY MOVES which C can make. The complexity of
the game is created out of this simplicity as it is in chess. It has to do
with the "common sense robot" described by the free text at:
<http://www.msnusers.com/Machine-Psychology>. Let's call the robot with
"The Mother of all Programs" installed a C-BOT.
When you get to the end of the course you will have a menu in a human
language and THE C CODE TO WRITE C CODE "roughed out". It doesn't matter
how many errors you make, ie how "buggy" it is because you can take it to
any one of thousands of C programming experts and they will debug it for
you. After you have had that program debugged and upgraded, COMPUTER
PROGRAMMING WILL BE OBSOLETE because anyone who can use a typical desktop
computer can write programs.
Why would the citizens of Saudi Arabia want to spend their lives doing
what misanthropic geek monkey brains like Bill Gates do?
