Let's get going on the Logic-Language-Learning course which we had
discussed earlier and see if we can make it worth 3 credits toward a
"Machine Psychology Degree".

Logic = The study of truth functions.

"I feel a pinch" T/F

You would answer T.

What do we put into truth functions? There is PERCEPTUAL input (eg the
pinch) and CONCEPTUAL input (time, space, God are examples of concepts for
which we do not seem to have perceptual matches). Many inputs can be
translated freely between conceptual and perceptual. The word/letter
symbols on this screen are conceptual but many can be translated into
perceptual inputs.

I keep coming back to "show and tell" which is systematized in the Peabody
Picture Vocabulary Test, a quickie IQ test normed from age 2 to 90.

"Show and Tell" is PERCEPTUAL. Now imagine the RoboSapien which has a link
from the Electric Abacus web site as a $100 robot child in millions of
homes. We start RoboSapien off at a 2 year level in picture vocabulary,
assuming it has a fairly good OBJECT RECOGNITION PROGRAM.

Show and Tell is natural language. We can extend its truth functions
greatly and expand the natural language. How far can we go with this?
How much NL and AI can we generate as millions of robot parents share
what they are teaching it over the Internet?
