This is, alas, not...*quite*...true. If you are using Microsoft Outlook,
Exchange, or Windows Messaging, and have selected MS Word as your e-mail
editor (WordMail), when you open a message you are opening a Word document and
become susceptible to macro viruses. Also, if you're using HTML mail, you're
vulnerable to prank Java, JavaScript, or VBScript applets which, although
technically not viruses, can have the same effect. However, if you set your
mail client to use text only, you *will* be safe, as long as you don't open
attachments you aren't sure of. The watchword, as always, is "caution." And
make sure your antivirus program has up-to-date virus definition files.
