Top court to rule if choirboy may sue Courier News 111/29/04 TRENTON "A man who claims he was repeatedly molested as a student at an internationally acclaimed Princeton music school has pushed his fight to sue the school to the state's highest court. The Supreme Court today will consider whether American Boychoir School should be shielded from such suits by a law designed to protect nonprofits from being bankrupted by employee negligence, or whether John W. Hardwicke Jr.'s suit against the school should be allowed to continue under a newer victims' rights law. A state appeals court in March ruled that Hardwicke could sue the boarding school he attended from 1969-1971. "The position of the Boychoir School as well as the Catholic church in the past has been that they are not liable for any childhood sexual abuse committed by their employees," said Greg Gianforcaro, a Phillipsburg lawyer who has represented people in sexual abuse suits against priests.
