Oil shale we have an estimated 3 trillion barrels of oil shale in the united states and some oil sands in UTAH. 5.) allow for domestic exploration - speaking of utah there has been a decent size discovery there within the last year. 6.) Unshakle the coal industry we have tremondous reserves of coal which could als directly replace oil even there is a known processes to convert coal to gasoline. 7.) individals and others are of course free develop other alternatives why not? It's still a relatively free country. 8.) Oil sands in Canada estimated to equal saudi arabia 9.) Large deposits of oil in Mexico 10) and there has been an interesting discovery of frozen methane hydrates off of the coast of North and South Carolina 11.) If the radical left wing marxist leninist environmental groups who automatically oppose all of these suggestions for the flimsiest of reasons, why don't you move to North Korea, cuba, china, IRAN, and other "bastions of freedom" where you will feel right at home politically speaking and leave freedom loving high technology loving people like me alone????
