This process (see following) produces what is commonly known in alternative healing circles as "colloidal silver" which actually is silver chloride produced from the electrolytic reaction with slight chloride impurities in the water (you can add a tiny bit of table salt to accelerate the reaction). Silver chloride is quite insoluble therefore you see it as milky water but in the light it quickly turns dark to metallic silver as in a black and white photograph negative. Either are quite inert inside the gut and not dissolved or taken into the bloodstream significantly by human metabolism. This is touted as a cure for bacteriological infections as the silver (or silver chloride) particles in the gut destroy many bacteria on contact. VERY important if you use this technique is to get the purest silver wire. A real silver coin is hard to find and is an alloy with undesirable amounts of impurities like copper and lead, and even sterling silver contains enough copper to potentially contaminate the water with a soluble (toxic) copper salt so if you are in doubt do not drink if there is any blue or green color of copper. Also if you use bottled water check analysis for nitrates as you may get silver nitrate which is soluble silver and very toxic. Best to use distilled water and just a tiny bit of non-iodized table salt dissolved in it and the VERY pure silver wire as described below.
