Part of the problem is the tendency of law enforcement personnel to play to
the news media, to put themselves in the best possible light. This usually
means that instead of *one* person handling media contacts, you have
half-a-dozen, each one telling a different story and none coordinating with
any of the others. In addition, there is always the rogue elephant who talks
out of class and gives the media stuff they really shouldn't have, probably
because it isn't really correct. It seems as if every cop sees himself as
Jimmy Smits on NYPD Blue, and wants to use the media to make sure the public
realizes this... And this only makes it easier for the Oligarchy to manipulate
the media into presenting the picture they want us to have.
