-Caveat Lector- Al Gore says there is no science to back the opposing view regarding the relationship between man made carbon emissions and global warming, and Mr Beam objects? This is actually a true statement. There is no scientific evidence that increasing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere - plus other man made chemicals or those resulting from man's activities - does NOT cause an increase in global temperature.
Those who disagree with the Gore viewpoint merely argue that the relationship is not proven. That is not the same as offering scientific proof that there is no relationship. Further, I have seen volumes of work by scientists all over the globe, which include the latest satellite photos of the glacial icepack melting in greenland, the arctic circle, and antarctica...all of which offer compelling scientfic evidence that melting og glacial ice - especially near the poles - is occuring at a much faster rate than expected, and over a greater area. I do not recall the last period they compared the melting with, so I won't state it. But it was in the realms of hundreds of years, at least. Misters Bacon and Beam are free to be a skeptics, but before they decide one side over the other they needs to weigh all the evidence as well as the source. How many scientists argue against global warming as compared with those who argue for it? What actual verifiable evidence do both sides present? And what are their credentials and areas of expertise in making these claims? Are they actual scientists who have studied the problem, or do they merely have some certificates from universities upon which they base their "expertise"?...The Wizard of Oz can tell you the value of those. Also, if - as the government says - there is no threat of global warming from carbon emissions why do they have programs like chemtrails trying to put reflective particles into the stratosphere to reflect sunlight and mitigate its non-existent effects? MQ PS: please check my website for my free book, Lizards In The White House, where I have a couple of chapters devoted to this.
