-Caveat Lector- MayDay to Stop The Bogus Wars with the Pot-Shot Heard Around the World In many cities around the world MayDay events are taking place including one near the White House on the Ellipse this Saturday, May 1st, where anti-war activists will be joined by anti-drug-war activists who want to see an end to the enormous tragedy in Yugoslavia and an end to the global and domestic violence, brutality, unfair imprisonments, and the cynical smuggling of hard drugs like crack cocaine and heroin with the profits buying guns used in our cities and in foreign lands like the CIA involvement in the Iran-Contra scandal acknowledged in the new CIA Inspector General's Report, Volume II, which is now awaiting the Congressional hearings recently called for by South Central Los Angeles Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA). (Waters' letter on this is copied below) Championed by former Los Angeles Police Department narcotics investigator Michael C. Ruppert, who will be speaking at 2:30PM, citizens (for an end to what he claims is a still-ongoing 50 year CIA history of complicity in drug smuggling) will be coming to support Ruppert's position that the hypocrisy behind this two-faced drug war might be remedied by simply bringing out the truth about it, including the suppressed and censored historical facts that justify the relegalization of medical hemp/cannabis (a.k.a. marijuana). The first speaker (12:10PM) at this March on Washington '99 event will be Congressman Bob Barr (R-GA) who has led the Anti-Democracy Campaign to deny $1.65 (one dollar and sixty five cents) to count the vote on last November's DC ballot Initiative #95 which will relegalize cannabis medicine, in the District of Columbia where it is most needed due to DC's record high rate of AIDS infection, for patients whose doctors agree are benefited by this legitimate medicine which was once the main ingredient in over 90% of the US Pharmacopia (from about 1870 until aspirin was invented and began slowly eroding some of its "market share"). Anti-drug activists are outraged that while prescription drugs have become the fourth leading cause of death in the United States, the demonstrated and broad-scoped medical usefulness of the cannabis/hemp plant (whose medical efficacy is reflected in the recently released Institute of Medicine report) continues to be outlawed due to the effects of a sick marijuana hysteria that still infects the US Congress which was actually the principle victim of the 1937 Anslinger-DuPont-Hearst-Mellon-perpetrated fraud in which both hemp fiber and cannabis medicine were outlawed by falsely labeling them as a "narcotic" called marijuana -- this even over the objections of the American Medical Association before it became beholding to the subsequent petrochemical drug industry now responsible for this fourth leading cause of death in the United States --while there is not one death in history ever recorded from the medical use of hemp-cannabis-marijuana. If this MayDay effort Saturday at the March on Washington, by activists of the international Million Marijuana March, is successful in addressing the need to end cannabis prohibition by "Bellying up to The Barr", it may become the "Pot-Shot Heard 'Round the World" to begin the end of all of the bogus wars -- the wars on drugs, on the Serbian and Iraqi people, and on other innocent citizens everywhere.
