'Wealthy men and hot girls'
A marvellous opportunity has opened up for lonely Wall Street bankers.
New York Magazine is sponsoring a "natural selection" speed-dating
event intended to honour the "age old union of wealthy [old] men
and hot [young] girls".
Qualification for the event is strict. There are richness
requirements for men -- those below 25 must have assets of at least
$200,000, those between 26 and 30 must have accumulated $300,000,
and elderly gents beyond 30 must be worth at least half a million
dollars.
Women must provide five pictures and their entry is "solely based
on beauty" judged by Janis Spindel, a well-known New York matchmaker.
The event is the brainchild of Pocket Change, a website for the
very well-off.
Founder Jeremy Abelson claims he has already had 300 applications
from each gender -- and most of the men, unsurprisingly, are from
New York's financial district.
"Obviously, any man who has the means would love to spend an
evening in the company of 40 pre-selected beautiful women," he said.
The ticket price is $500 for men -- but $50 for ladies.
