Lee At around 11:30 a.m. on April 20th, two masked teens adorned in black trench coats, and armed with a semi-automatic handgun, semi-automatic rifle, two sawed-off shotguns, and more than 30 homemade pipe bombs, invaded Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado. During the ensuing two hour rampage 12 students and a teacher were killed before the teens apparently committed suicide. Predictably, gun control zealots, including much of the major media, immediately began spinning the dreadful incident to place blame on the alleged "easy availability" and abundance of guns. They are already calling for new gun control measures to accompany the thousands already on the books that were glaringly ineffectual in keeping firearms (and explosives) out of the hands of Columbine seniors Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris. Their victims, on the other hand, were obeying those laws--and were disarmingly helpless as a result. Hopefully, cooler heads will prevail. The Colorado Legislature is currently debating a bill to further enhance the state's conceal-carry statute. Those backing the measure say that a teacher or administrator with a concealed gun could have stopped, or greatly minimized, the Littleton tragedy. There is no doubt about it! According to students interviewed by the media, Klebold and Harris belonged to a small group calling itself the Trench Coat Mafia (TCM), whose members wear black trench coats; sing and quote songs by shock-rock degenerate Marilyn Manson; and are obsessed with the occult and fantasies of mutilating and decapitating people. Some wear bands stating, "I hate people," and many are described as homosexual, racist, and fans of Adolph Hitler. April 20th was Hitler's birthday, but the self-styled Mafiosi are reportedly heavy into drugs, and a Columbine student reminded Nightline's Ted Koppel that "4-20" is a code word for marijuana, and that April 20th serves as "kind of a holiday" for some drug users. Klebold and Harris were into the so-called "gothic" look (the gothic craze is said to have been inspired by such fantasy games as Dungeons & Dragons), adherents of which wear all black clothing and (depending on gender) adorn themselves with chains, white face powder, black eye makeup, and black lipstick; they occasionally dye their hair black or bleach it white. According to the Denver Post for April 21st, the purpose is to make women "look like TV's Morticia Addams and men like rocker Manson." One student told reporters that TCM members often sing and quote songs by Manson. Lakewood Police Sergeant Less Williams told the Post that goths are "easy to spot because they're so ghastly looking. They dress that way to give the appearance of a dead body, because they worship death in whatever form it happens to come in." He stressed, however, that while some goths tend to be violent, racist, and anti-Semitic, not all are similarly depraved. Indeed, most "are very peaceful and don't believe in the Marilyn Manson approach" of blasphemy, violence, and parent killing. Manson, an ordained minister in the Church of Satan, has said that "America needs that Anti Christ figure [Satan], that Anti Hero to save these kids from the oppression of Right Wing morality." Harris and Klebold were indeed "saved" from that traditional, Biblically-based credo. The Littleton tragedy is further confirmation of the extent to which respect for human life has deteriorated in recent decades under the corrosive assault of the liberal agenda. Why should we be surprised that such tragedies occur, when television, movies, music, and other entertainment media deluge youngsters with moral muck and violence; when the destruction of millions of human beings via abortion is championed as sound policy; when God and His scriptures are driven out of schools even as youngsters are taught that they evolved from apes; and when our youth are instructed that the planet is overpopulated, and would be better off with fewer humans, who are equivalent to rats and worms, except that humans do more harm to the environment? In its initial report on the tragedy, USA Today, without the slightest justification based on what is actually known about the TCM, labeled it a "militia-style clique" in a transparent attempt to transfer the onus of the bloodbath from the liberal-left to the so-called "extreme right." Blaming guns for such incidents as the Littleton atrocity is as ludicrous as blaming pencils for mis-spelled words. The problem is not too many guns. It is too few guns in the right hands. Our schools have become "gun-free zones" that can easily be targeted by predators who don't obey the gun-control laws. If some teachers and other school personnel were allowed to carry a concealed weapon, and were properly trained in its use, there would be fewer killings in our schools. >>>Whatever you say J.B.S...
