Lamp turning off and on... Do you have one of those touch activated lamps?

My friend has one and also one of those "mad-scientist" static electricity
globes.  I freaked a party out by holding the activated globe and merely
pointing my finger at the touch lamp.  With my finger 4 inches from the lamp, it
repeatedly turned off and on.  The electricity travels over the surface of your
body and arcs to a better conductor, such as the metal lamp.
