From a normal rate of around 1,200 visitors a day reading the Electronic News, it peaked on 6th May with 128,769. Major news services such as World Net Daily linked through to our site, radio stations broadcast news about the reports and sites with specific interest in this organisation listed our publication. Although the Bilderberg organisation remains tight lipped about its forthcoming visit to Portugal, as does the Portuguese media, the rest of the world are clearly deeply interested. Our e-mail has been bombarded with messages, principally from Europe and North America. Some are published in our full editorial, though we have felt obliged to edit or decline to publish the more outrageous claims. As The News has pointed out since we first exclusively published the news about their June meeting, although Bilbergers are very secretive, there is nothing further to be known about them, sinister or otherwise. Well known American Televangelist Jack Van Impe has 'revealed' that Bilderberg will announce a new world leader in June. Interesting, but as they don't seem to make public announcements, a little far fetched. Whatever else, the Bilderburg's policy of secrecy and high security certainly fascinates a lot of people and raises questions as to what it is they discuss and decide that calls for such confidentiality. As revealed exclusively in The News last week, the Bilderbergs, reputedly the world's most secret society, are due to meet in Sintra next month. We have received e-mails from all over the world congratulating The News on making this information public. Yet in Portugal, as we closed the paper on Thursday, the press has remained tight lipped about this meeting, in spite of the fact that Portugal's national press agency LUSA decided to distribute The News' report to all the Portuguese media. A quick search of the internet on the single keyword Bilderberg, will bring up some of the most extraordinary claims regarding the objectives and activities of this powerful group of industrialists, financiers and ex-politicians. It will also reveal many reports of the lengths to which this organisation will go to maintain full secrecy over its meetings. Much of the information could be seen as scurrilous, even far fetched, with claims that these people are part of what is described as the New World Order. An hour or so of research will be enough to find the names of most of the members, details of their past meetings and claims of what has been discussed.
