Just a short while ago, I happened to catch the comedy hour - it was a Christmas skit...possibly rerun of Saturday Night Life..... When we were children, we did not have fantical Born Again Christians raving on stage as they did at Littleton, attempting to make big time TV. Christmas was a fun time - Christmas Exchanges, but most of all I loved the music of Handel's Messiah, which was put into play form, the story of Bethlemen, and Christmas Carols....the beauiful Hark the Herald Angels sing....Christmas Trees, Toy Land, a time of season we all loved. But most of all, my mother would take us to Church and in the front the beauiful Manger set, with the Three Wisemen, the Camel, and Mary and Joseph with the child in the manager. There was nothing fanatical about the religion at Christmas time.....there was music, and it was a time the community not only prospered, but came together; most of our clothing stores, were owned by Jewish families; there was a family of Lebanese...but we all in our own way, celebrated Christmas most of all by being good neighbors. We also had no crime rate, that I could ever remember. Today I saw the ugle Rosie O'Donnel, and it was not her face or her demeanor, it was the show she put on for Comedy TV, along with this Penny - Rob Reiner's wife, and another short, dumpy woman....cute stuff. Rosie and her friends got into a fight, with the Christmas lites in the background, and the manger scene....they ended up kicking statues of Mary and Joseph, and both picked up the crib with the baby Jesus in it......there were two exhibits, hence two babies, and were about to throw the little statutes, when some little carolers came along..... Now get this picture.....this ugly, loud mouthed - and nobody will ever convince me she is Irish....this ugly loud mouth kicking a manger scene, and about to destroy the spirit of the true meaning of Christmas, in a comedy routine. She is not funny, but she laughs a lot; she is not witty, but she talks a lot; she looks as though she had some drag, to get into TV....something in her background, because she certainly does not have talent. Have never watched her show but once, for a few minutes - just enough to never turn it on again. The fact that she is a lesbian, does not bother me; nor the fact that she and Michael Jackson love kids......well that is up to someone else to decide. But this gun stuff.......K Mart sells guns....they also sell inferior products; you can wait for a sale at a good store, and pick out a pair of pajamas that will not fall apart at one washing, for the same price, on sale.....I made the mistake of buying a pari of the Jacqueline Smith, or whatever pajamas; they were pretty, and nerly $30.00......wow, they were made in China, and the stitching under the arms tore loose after one washing. So much for qulity K Mart and quality Rosie. Next Christmas you will not find me in K Mart buying their Christmas decorations or items; instead, I am going to remember Rosie kicking a statute of Josephand Mary, and ready to throw the little statue of a baby Jesus, on the gorund.
