Absolutely. Religious mystification seems to be one of the key strategies
of these covert intelligence groups.
Interesting that you should mention Paul. I didn't know that he was a
friend of Seneca.... hmmmmm. He certainly was successful in stripping
Christianity of its revolutionary implications. After Paul's
disinformation campaign, the essential message of the Liberator would be
pie-in-the-sky. And, even more damning is the fact that what was once
considered a scorned cult of a remote corner of the empire would become
the official religion of Rome. The Roman oligarchy
eventually saw an opportunity to put this new upstart religion to good
use. Once most of the message had been allegorized and given the proper
spin.
But there is still that powerful scene of Jesus chasing the moneylenders
out of the temple. Writer Gore Vidal has challenged the faithful to
consider the implications of this incident. Clearly, "the Lord" knew that
human enslavement/oppression had a great deal to do with money...and the
rulers of money.
