What, Milosevic doesn't lie? They ALL lie! Any politico who speaks
truly is severely punished by their constituents, who only want to
hear the appropriate spin. Politics is an art, the art of crafting
the most serviceable untruths. What works, works.
How about the real reasons for the Serb generals' refusal to sign-on
to the surrender? They're ALL war criminals, responsible for "ethnic
cleansing", rape, murder, genocide, etc, and they WON'T willingly
agree to ANYTHING that doesn't give them immunity. Why stall the
end of the conflict, why let NATO continue bombing? So that bodies
can be burnt, mass-graves can be bulldozed, evidence can be erased.
So that numbered accounts can be established in the Bahamas, visas
stamped, flights arranged. When the Serb generals, and Milosevic's
cronies and backers in Beograd, all have safe havens arranged in
Russia, Argentina, Kenya, wherever, THAT'S when Serb troops will
pull out of Kosova. Until then, NATO bombings will continue.
