Basic argument: Serbs were unfairly displaced from Kosova, thus
they're entitled to regain the territory.
Implied thesis: A people who have occupied a territory over a
period of time deserve to keep/retake that territory.
Applications of that thesis: Spanish-speakers deserve to kick
English-speakers out of California. Native peoples deserve to
kick European peoples out of California. Earlier immigrants
deserve to kick later immigrants out of California. Native
Hawaiians, as the first human inhabitants of Hawaii, deserve
to kick EVERYBODY else out of Hawaii. Right makes might.
Antithesis: No people have an 'entitlement' to any territory;
a region belongs to whoever can take and hold it.
Applications of the antithesis: The Americas rightfully belong
to the Europeans who took it from Native Americans. California
belongs to the Anglos who took it from the Mexicans. If I shoot
you and take your land, that land is mine, by right of conquest.
Kosova is Serbian if Albanians are ethnically cleansed. Kosova
is Albanian if Serbs are ethnically cleansed. Utah is Mormon when
Utes and Paiutes are ethnically cleansed. Might makes right.
Tell it to the Tasmanians.
