Venus Lends a Helping Hand: En route to Saturn, the Cassini spacecraft
flew less than 400 miles above Venus today gaining a boost in speed from
that planet's gravity. This story includes a tutorial on "gravity assist"
maneuvers and how they are used to propel spacecraft to the outer planets.
