Here is additional data showing the existence and frequency of ritual abuse: "Memory, Trauma Treatment and The Law," Brown, Scheflin, Hammond, "Bottoms, Shaver and Goodman (1993) found that of 2292 alleged ritual abuse cases, 30% of the perpetrators in child cases and 15% of the perpetrators in adult cases confessed to abuse....A total of 6910 psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers were surveyed and 31% reported that they had seen at least one or more cases of rtiual abuse." (p. 62) and "The fact that children in the study lacked knowledge of satanic ritual abuse does not necessarily imply that children's reports of satanic ritual abuse are true. The findings do suggest, however, that children would be unlikely to make up such reports on their own." (p. 64) and "The evidence strongly suggests... that adults who are abused for significant periods of the childhood may later become amnestic for the abuse." (p.63) "Ritual Abuse", Margaret Smith "Children from all around the United States are telling us that they have been systematically abused during rituals...both adult and child survivors of ritual abuse who remember the violence experience flashbacks and become overwhelmed with physical and emotional pain." p. 118, This books also contains studies on ritual abuse. The study sited from the URL sent below does not prove that there is "very little at most" mind control or ritual abuse. It only shows they were unable to find sufficient physical evidence to fully back the claims of ritual abuse. Cults are notorious for destroying evidence. I and other survivors have witnessed this. The study doesn't show that ritual abuse doesn't exist. They also say, " the vast majority of clinicians believe their clients to be telling the truth about real events." As to the additional statements made below, I can only speculate that they are directed at people on the list, possibly me. It is not being abusive to defend oneself and one's beliefs. I was responding to attacks to my credibility and reasons for posting to the list. If my credibility can be examined than so should others. If a person on the list can ask survivors to question their own realities (about MC) than that person should question theirs also. If one person has to prove their argument, than the other should also. Basically I am asking for the same standards for all. This is not abusive.
