-Caveat Lector- There have been few political candidates since the advent of broadcast media who have had the polarizing effects on the American Electorate as had Patrick J. Buchanan during both his 1992 and 1996 attempts at garnering the presidential nomination for the Republican Party. To his supporters, Pat Buchanan personified conviction and principle...traits more attributable to the increasingly rare statesman than the ever-plentiful politician who routinely runs out in front of an issue instead of forging its path. To his detractors, Buchanan represented a vociferous, nationally-prominent threat to the continuum of Political Correctness which has gained momentum in silencing the voices of morality and ethics on issues which had gained their societal assimilation on the well-greased skids on the deafening guilt-imposed silence of "tolerance" and other liberally-developed battle weapons. Love him or loathe him, the presidential campaign of one Patrick J. Buchanan revealed much more about the Two-Party System, about the American Electorate, about the Establishment Party Leadership of both the Republicans and the Democrats than most people realize. And in doing so, the poker-faces so successfully maintained for decades by the Establishment Leaderships of both parties have been exposed. The traditional alignments of "Republican" vs. "Democrat" have been uncovered for the false-dichotomy of ideological "conservatism" vs. "liberalism" of which they have historically been characterized. Indeed, "Good" vs." Bad" is no longer a matter of Right vs. Left...of Republican vs. Democrat. In sum, it is a matter of "Right" vs. "Wrong". And while the Republicans openly look to advance the interests of a voracious Globalist Wall Street Agenda which threatens the livelihoods of hardworking Rank-and-File Americans, and the Democrats do nothing to impede them from assaulting this long-held base constituency...and while the Democrats have paraded an agenda of social perversities which have insulted the traditional ethics and values of Social Conservatives, and the Republicans do nothing to impede them from making huge advances in promoting a societal underculture...the traditional lines of political affiliation for pursuing one's impassioned interests can no longer be relied upon.
