Hi all...
Had two interesting conversations I want to mull over out loud...

Spoke with Ambrose Evans-Pritcherd today, who, when questioned
on Barry Seal and the Mob, quite pointedly told me that he had "stayed away"
from the Mafia angle on the Mena stuff.
(Sure. He can afford to.  He's moving to Brussels!)

He's a hero though, even so, I  think, and almost single-handedly
kept the tradition of a free press alive these past five years.
I once thought he was, maybe, one of the Scaife operatives, but his bitterly
scathing denunciation of Sex Dwarf Ken Starr cured me of this particular
bit of paranoia.

Last night I had a call from a famous Southern lawman, who feels he's already
too famous to be quoted directly.
But he is famous, trust me, and, not incidentally, Jack Ruby was an informant of his.

He and a houseguest were drinking branch bourbon.

The houseguest was John Hull.

Right. That John Hull.

John was hung out to dry by North and Bush, the famous lawman told me,
and was an american patriot who never dabbled in drugs in his life.

That would  make him the only CIA agent in Central America who didn't, I replied.

John Kerry railroaded him, I heard. Now, this I have no difficulty believing--remember,
Kerry last year nominated Willam Weld for ambassador to Mexico.

( If that had flown, I guess they were thinking of Manuel Noriega for Drug Czar.)

Anyway, the thing is, I don't yet know enough about poor Indiana farmer John Hull to
have read him his rights over the phone.

And there's also the 'dangle' aspect, implied, of course, never stated--to stuff like this.
("Leave John out of this and I'll tell you where Barry stashed the videotape of the Bush
brothers on a plane full of cocaine.")

Making nice with John Hull would be a small price to pay for gettin' the goods on
Texas George, I guess--but it would be wrong. (Right?)

"I'm not going to give you anyhting that could get you killed," a drug smuggling buddy of
Barry's told me acouple months ago in an interview at the Beau Rivage Casino in
Biloxi, where our own Gamblincat always gets comped.
"I mean, no documents or nothing like that."

BTW....this was the guy who dropped Tyson Foods' James' Blair's name, you know, the
guy ol L.D. didn't know nuthin' 'bout.

Anyway, this isn't going anywhere special.

I just wanted y'all to know I'd recovered from my Levine mini-stroke,
which was purely personal, by the way.

He black-balled me when I applied to join the Hair Club for Men.

"Scandal in contemporary U.S. life is an
institutionalized sociological phenomenon.
It is not due primarily to psychopathological
variables, but is due to the institutionalization
of elite wrongdoing which has occcurred since 1963."

"Many of the scandals that have occurred in the U.S.
since 1963 are fundamentally interrelated: that is,
the same people and institutions have been involved."
