Yes, Goat, it's always been that way. Nothing new here. I don't always
complain about it. Sometimes it's better to have these guys redecorating
than coming up with obscenely stupid programs that take hours of time and
tons of money to work on. If anyone knows anyone who had to work around the
totally assinine "ZERO DEFECTS" program that General Shriever burdened the
Air Force with, they know it is better to buy personal planes, build golf
courses and skiing chalets, beach retreats, anything but let them loose at
the office. If anyone has had anything to do with the military, he or she
knows that the most important things when generals (visiting or local) are
concerned is cutting grass and getting haircuts. No one worrys whether an
installation is combat ready, or whether its organizations function properly.
Basically that's because the ton of brass the military is burdened with
these days can see much better than they can think. Prudy
