Bush of Texas says it is fitting for his state to honor leftist revolutionary labor organizer Cesar Chavez. The Republican primary frontrunner and open immigration advocate says he'll sign a bill approved by the state legislature to designate March 31st next year as "Cesar Chavez Day." In the 1960's and 1970's, Chavez was a leader of the Marxist dominated United Farm Workers (UFW) union http://www.ufw.org/ that tried to organize migrant farm workers, mostly Hispanics, into a revolutionary, [anti-American] political force. UFW's attorneys were members of the Communist front group, the National Lawyers Guild. http://www.nlg.org/ Spanish-speaking Bush is the candidate of choice for top party leaders who are convinced the pro-immigration governor will help them win Hispanic voters. During the campaign, Bush is likely to pick Hispanic advisers and show up at rallies for immigrants. Conservatives think honoring left-wing Hispanic leaders like Chavez is "smart politics."
