The US Govt is now demanding of the phone companies, that they
not continue printing on their bills the new tax imposed by VP
Gore, and illegal tax, not passed thru Congress, not initiated
legally for the FCC, and facetiously referred to by the current
administration as a "mandatory contribution" which spells TAX to
me. This TAX has been applied to our 'phone bills for over a
year, and most people do not even know what it is and have not
even called their 'phone co about it.
There is a bill, HR 692, pending in the house of reps and we need
to alert the people in our congress how we feel about being taxed
just on the whim and request of the VP.
In the House of Representatives, Rep Tom Tancredo has introduced
bill # 692 to repeal this illegal tax. Please support it.
You may argue, "well, we can't just repeal it now, without
finding a new source for that money", this argument was tried on
the Boat Owners special tax a few years ago, and it did not hold
water then either.
If the tax was illegal then, so must the use of the funds
collected thereby have been illegal too. This bill must pass,
and all "mandatory contributions" taxes be refunded to the
people. NOW!
