Don't touch the diet stuff myself... never have since it came out; neither
in foods or drinks.
One drink of that nutrasweet back in 1980 made me sicker than a dog,
and I've never touched a diet anything since, knowingly. I've heard and
seen the info about aspartame since 1981, so the info's been out there
for quite a while.
*IF* I'm gonna drink a soda, I go for the 'real thing'... sugar and all,
as there may be only *one calorie* in a diet pop on the up side,
the down side is that diet soda has several grams of fat
(for those concerned more about their cholestrol than brain tumors) . . .
compared to 'ZERO' grams of fat in a regular pop such as Pepsi / Mt. Dew,
(I must admit, Pepsi and Mt. Dew get most of my support), not to mention
the dangers of the chemical side effects of nutrasweet, aka: aspartame.
