The New American magazine just came out with the voting records
of U.S. Congressmen for the first half of 1999. They looked at
20 of the most important bills in each house, then found out how
often the person voted constitutionally. Here are some results:

Average Democrat: 23%
Average Republican: 67%
Bernie Sanders, self-admitted socialist: 30% (higher than the Democrats!)

Ron Paul (TX 14) 100%
Helen Chenowith (ID 1) 94% (missed a vote)
Bob Stump (AZ 3) 90%
John Doolittle (CA 4) 90%
Richard Pombo (CA 11) 90%
Ed Royce (CA 39) 90%
John Hostettler (IN 8) 90%
Walter Jones (NC 3) 90%
Jim Sensenbrenner (WI 9) 90%

Average overall: 51% constitutional
Average Democrat: 23%
Average Republican: 74%

CONCLUSIONS:
(1) There was a BIG difference between the voting records of the Democrats
and Republicans.
(2) A few Congressmen are actually voting constitutionally! We should
contact these people and congratulate them.
