Sorry, Mr Shayler, but I have to view that idea with great suspicion.
One evening when I was trying to put out a possible solution to the Quantum
Paradox to hundreds of the worlds relativity scientists, I found that my
computer was hanging a lot, and I kept reconnecting, sending mail etc,
but things were going out real slow.
So I decided to phone technical support at easynet.
Lets empty your netscape cache [done that], lets check your dial up settings,
IP number .... then, I was told to reconnect whilst he hung on to see if it
went.
Well the modem sings its song, connection screen comes up and I log onto
netscape.com.
Sorry Mr hennessey, but you're not connected - but I am, look my clocks
ticking, Hang on he says I'll Ping you, nope, you're not connected, lets
recheck your settings and redial - did that - same again - connected, but
not connected.
Its your lucky night mr hennessey, he says because I'm one of the few tech
people with Core Access - I'll look you up there and see if your IP number
checks out.
What was your IP number he says ?? doesn't seem to be the same one that
you're really dialling - I'll Ping that one and see where it goes ...
Cheltenham, Cambridge and 2 Linux mainframes in London, then you log on.

I think that mr Shayler is a plant in deep cover ... and I would not take
anything he says as gospel .... where does his IP number and connection
really go before it gets to us ... and wouldn't he have high enough
clearance to know that he can be locked out ?? given the circumstances I
have just described.
