Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money; take that, and give unto them for me and thee (Matthew 17:24-27)." Peter, apparently fearful of the tax collectors, made a mistake. He said "Yes" and the answer was "No" or at the very best "I don't know." Peter was stopped by Jesus upon trying to enter the house (prevented). Jesus wanted to make a point and I'm sure in his kind and loving way said, "We don't owe the tax, here's why, but as you have already told them we would, go to the sea (offshore), catch a fish, take the money from its mouth and pay them, we've more important things to do." Sometimes its best to throw the beast a bone, brethren. It may keep them off our back. We've got a kingdom to build upon. That's not to say we should be giving them 50% or more of what God has given. Let them who will not work (tax collectors) "starve." Offshore accounts can be very important in stewardship.
