Re: suspected involvement of the CIA in death of New Zealand's prime
minister Norman Kirk in the early seventies.
My comment on this story:
1. Norman Kirk, a popular Labour Party (means centre-left) Prime Minister
of NZ, went into a Catholic private hospital, the Mater Misericordiae, with
"ingrown toenails" and came out dead. There was no public warning that he
was in a serious condition. He was not a Catholic, though his wife later
espoused Catholic causes.
2. He had been suffering a great deal of phone harassment, like threats
and calls at 3am from private citizens, and other harassment.
3. Anyone poisoning him off would, it can be assumed, have had a preferred
candidate to replace him. He was succeeded by Bill Rowling, a quiet,
timid, school teacher of seeming integrity but modest intellectual gifts,
who came from the small tobacco-growing area of Motueka. (This tobacco
area, dominated by WD and HO Wills tobacco company, had more than its share
of successful candidates for high office.)
4. I believe that in any planned assassination or health attack any
victim's former health history is studied and the method designed to
co-ordinate with it.
5. The publisher of a Kirk biography said that lots of material existed
which had had to be "buried".
