Those concerned with the forced Anthrax vaccine program among military personnel have worked diligently for over a year to bring the dangers and shortcomings of this ill conceived program to the attention of congress. Congressman Shays has conducted several hearings on the safety and efficacy of this program. Many members of the military are ill following their being injected with one of more doses of this vaccine. Many are threatened into silence, still others have testified in congressional hearings recently. DoD has gone to great effort to silence those military personnel who speak out on the internet. Some have had their posts to a mailing list on this topic handed to them within hours by their commander, and threatened with charges of attempting to incite mutiny, still others have literally been told not to contact even their congressmen. Unfortunately, it is through resignations and court-martials. If the mandatory anthrax vaccination policy moratorium legislation becomes law the bleeding of our armed forces readiness will stop. Servicemembers know the threat, and are willing to serve our nation in light of these dangers. Inoculations should be ceased, or made voluntary, until our nation's leaders can offer a safe vaccine, or reevaluate the policy decision to vaccinate against this infinitely dynamic form of warfare.
