MICROBES MUNCH ON TOXIC WASTE BENEATH IDAHO LAB

By Catherine Lazaroff
BERKELEY, California, September 7, 1999 (ENS) - Microorganisms in the rock
seventy five meters between the Earth's surface in Idaho are eating away
at radioactive wastes - and they do so faster if fed a steady diet of
pollutants from leaky fuel tanks. A study by researchers at the Department
of Energy's Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory may lead to new,
environmentally friendly techniques for cleaning up toxic wastes. For Full

SORRY RACHEL: DDT IS STILL HERE

By Jackie Alan Giuliano, Ph.D.
The efforts of Rachel Carson and the publication of her groundbreaking
book, "Silent Spring" in 1962, were responsible for the eventual banning
of the deadly pesticide DDT in the U.S. on June 14, 1972. Carson proved
that the chemical was responsible for the deaths of thousands of birds,
bringing many species to the brink of extinction. Copyright Environment

Entropy System's New Technology Converts Atmospheric Heat to Electricity;
Produces Zero Emissions and Uses No Fossil or Nuclear Fuels

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio, Sept. 7 -/E-Wire/-- Production and consumption of
energy is the largest business in the world. After seven years and $3.4
million, Entropy Systems Inc., (ESI) has developed engine technology that
produces power, by absorbing heat from atmospheric air, that can be at any
temperature (even sub-zero). No fossil fuels or any nuclear materials are
required to operate these engines and therefore they do not produce any
pollution. In other words ESI engines are Room Temperature Superconductors
of heat. ESI engines require no cryogenic liquids or any fuel storage
systems and can be used to run Automobiles, Boats, Lawnmowers and
Generators.
