-Caveat Lector- Oh --yawn-- ANOTHER 18th Century "men's club" for nobility in which phallic worship, mutual masturbation, and other homoerotic practices were celebrated. I could name half a dozen others, mostly (not surprisingly, for those in the know) in Great Britain. Moving on to the 19th Century, THE politically most powerful secret societies were, behind closed doors, similar in character. Cecil Rhodes, creator of the Rhodes Trust with Baron Rothschild, and a leading member of the "Society of the Elect" --whose EXOteric form was the RIIA (parent organization of the American CFR)-- was notorious for his own private collection of Greco-Roman ithyphallic statuary. The "Greek ideal" (euphemistically "Platonic" love between men, and especially between men and boys) was in actuality a recurring motif for the founding members of that group, which included Reginald Brett, Lord Esher, the most overt homosexual in Victorian society after Oscar Wilde. Wilde himself moved in the same deviate circles, as ubiquitous member of the Society's more "occult" fronts like the Order of the Golden Dawn, a haven for Victorian gays, bisexuals and lesbians, many of them Jacobite in politics. Not coincidentally, the Masonic "scholar" who inspired the Golden Dawn's linear predecessor, the Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia, was similarly obsessed with phallic-worship (of a homosexual sort, in practice) as the ultimate "secret of secrets" hidden in ancient pagan mysteries. When the Golden Dawn charter was taken to Germany to become the OTO (Order of Oriental Templars), its core-concept of homoerotic sex magick was of course taken with it, especially under the influence of Aleister Crowley, and the leaders of the OTO and its offshoots on the Continent, right up to the Nazi era, were almost all quite waspishly misogynistic homosexuals. As were Adolf Hitler's mentors during the same period ... Not much different in the parallel secret societies in France during the late "Magical Revival," when blueblooded gay and lesbian occultists shuttled between London and Paris as if crossing the street. Yet little attention has been given this phenomena ... I guess you have to be an "initiated" member of the most politically powerful secret societies, welcomed into the exclusive "Men's Club," to be made truly privy to their "secret of secrets" in an "illuminating" way ...
