Greco The Gecko, Mayor of Tampa, is a federal puppet hoping
for reward when boy george II hits the whitehouse...this is
right from the city of Tampas website...it was done a couple
of months ago and lines up perfectly with all the other
depredations on this community by this slimy
lizard/garbageman....check out item four....it is the tip of
the iceberg.
WHEREAS, Brigadier General James N. Soligan, through his
leadership on behalf of the MacDill Air
Force Base has enhanced a strong partnership with the
City of Tampa to improve the quality of life
for military families of the MacDill Air Force Base.
WHEREAS, Mayor Dick Greco and the City of Tampa is very
appreciative and
supportive of the MacDill Air Force Base and its
military family.
WHEREAS, the MacDill Air Force Base and the City of
Tampa have begun
partnering initiatives as follows:
1.Improve access to and affordability of housing in
South Tampa for military members through
a variety of initiatives including infill housing
composed of multi-family units, and
implementation of a low interest residential
rehabilitation loan program.
2.Promote opportunities for the School District of
Hillsborough County to make Robinson
High School "the exemplar" high school in
Hillsborough County, through investments over
the next 3-5 years in the areas of: capital
infrastructure, computer technology for students,
teacher training, science laboratories and the
purchase of text books.
3.Enhance, through Internet technology, a match of
skills of military spouses with the
employment needs of the City through an integrated
employment vacancy notice procedure
and development of a 6-month on the job-training
program.
4.Improve community emergency preparedness and public
safety through joint planning,
training, exercises, response, and mutual aid
support. Preparedness activities include the
participation in training and exercise for the
Domestic Preparedness Program and the
development and conduct of joint exercises,
terrorism exercise in 1999, and an oil spill in 2000.
Additionally, to the maximum extent permitted,
arrange for co-beneficial use of MacDill's
firing range for the City of Tampa's Police
Department.
5.Improve recreational activities both on and off base
by working jointly to locate and fund the
Friendship � South Tampa Greenway Trails crossing
near or on MacDill easements, sharing
of recreational programs and facilities for special
events, and to better integrate the recreation
programs. Additionally, the City of Tampa agrees to
dedicate a "MacDill Air Force Base
Memorial Park.
WHEREAS, the partnering efforts between MacDill Air
Force Base and the City
of Tampa is an extraordinary relationship that will
continue to be nurtured as it
has over the tenure of Mayor Greco�s terms in office
with the City of Tampa.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Dick A. Greco, by virtue of the
authority vested in me as Mayor the City of
Tampa, Florida, do hereby proclaim the MacDill/City of
Tampa Partnering Initiatives to be an infinite
relationship to be continuously enhanced into the 21st
Century.
