Again, LaRouche is right on the money, IMHO, regarding the psy-war strategies
of our elders (far better and more devious at this game) in the UK's National
Security State.
In the Mitrokhin affair, as in the parallel case of Lunev (popular with
American fascists), I've seen all the hallmarks of previous "Soviet
defectors" whose real credibility is nil but whose supposed "defection"
enables disinfo experts in our counter-intelligence services
to "leak" alleged "truths" fortuitously serving the CIA's own psy-war goals
-- "facts" of which the CIA has always tried to convince us before,
UNSUCCESSFULLY (thanks to a wealth of CONTRARY facts from sources NOT easily
debunked as Commie agitprop)
but which might appear more believable now, fallaciously an "argument from
authority."
There can be no "World War III" justified IDEOLOGICALLY --none of the
paranoia and mass-hysteria so dear to out-of-work Cold Warriors in the
military-industrial complex, in right-wing "think tanks," and in other
dead-end niches for aging fascisti, nostalgic for a militarized DOMESTIC
national security apparatus rationalized by "anti-Communism"--
until the American public is convinced that the "Evil Empire" is still alive
and well, if not even MORE powerful, and that we "Communist dupes" have
foolishly FALLEN for its relentless, all-permeating "subversive" propaganda,
ever since the presidency of "fellow traveller" John F. Kennedy and other
influential "Communist agents" like Martin Luther King, from whom an entire
generation of "Baby Boomers" has imbibed the poisoned mother's milk of
Marxist-Leninism under the cunning disguise of "liberal conscience."
In other words, until these over-the-hill fascisti persuade us that, had not
we not taken a terribly wrong and ideologically misguided turn, we'd still be
living in the "good old days" of Joe McCarthy, Nixon, and J. Edgar Hoover,
and nothing was closer to Heaven on Earth, if only we had recognized it and
had never doubted their authority or motives!
Yes, I'm rhetorically beating a dead horse -- but it looks like that horse,
not white but only whitewashed, is the very same one our putative "saviors"
intend to ride back in on, as the walls close in our free society and the
iron fist of totalitarianism is slammed down on the table of legitimate
dissent. We'd better trust our government, folks -- OR ELSE.
My only question is, how long before the "retro" hysteria evident in the UK
-- convenient for Blair's more "conservative" successors in the UK, being
groomed for 2000-- emerges in the United States as well -- promoted, no
doubt, by the no doubt inevitable Bush II
administration, which may sweep the neoliberalism of the whole Clinton era
under the same rug as the "Kennedy phenomenon," a whole populace FOOLED by
COMMIES?
How long before the State rewrittes history AGAIN, as it did after the
Roosevelt era, to provide a sophistic raison d'etre for the Realpolitik of
our post-2000 authoritarianism?
