Heck, in the common-law states (Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Virginia,
Kentucky--the "Commonwealths"), the old English common law holds, which
means that all that is needed to be legally married is to identify your
POSSLQ or whatever as your spouse *once*, in public. This has more than once
resulted in so-called "taproom marriages," usually involving a drunken
patron and a local hooker...
