380 years, actually -- and an Age is 2160 years long (give or take a decade
or two).
The SIDEREAL zodiac --the zodiac of stars and constellations, not signs--
since the beginnings of astrology has been measured relative to the positions
of the three most "fixed" stars in that otherwise not-very-orderly framework.
To wit, the star Spica in the constellation of Libra was taken as the 180
degree point, opposite 0 degrees of Aries, and the two stars Aldebaran in
Taurus and Antares in Scorpio, directly opposite, as markers of 45 and 225
degrees, respectively. Using those as fixed reference points
anchoring the unmoving STELLAR matrix UPON which our TROPICAL (season-based)
signs move backward in "precession," the beginning of the Age of Aries was in
1940 BC, the Age of Pisces began in 220 AD, and the Age of Aquarius is due in
2380 AD.
Sure, "Christ" was born about 7 BC, during the last centuries of the Age of
ARIES, "the Lamb of God," but under a Jupiter-Saturn conjunction in the sign
of Pisces, and major conjunctions in Pisces were believed to be FORERUNNERS
of the coming New Age, "nigh at hand." Vergil predicted that New Age "born
of the Virgin" (Virgo is the sign opposite Pisces) in Caesar's time, and ca.
40 BC, Julius Caesar's union with Cleopatra --wedding the West and East--
which produced a Child who would inherit rule of THE WORLD, was viewed by
many as the beginning of that Age -- only interpreted in terms of a replay of
the Osiris-Isis-Horus myth, dear to the initiates of the Imperial household.
(The assassination of Caesar NEXT was as traumatic to Romans as the
crucifixion of
Jesus to Christians -- sorta like the JFK assassination to those of my own
generation.
Caesar betrayed by Brutus, Jesus betrayed by Judas .. etc.) By the first
century BC, these PISCEAN "archetypes" were already at work, just looking
around for a suitable "Rorschach blot" upon which to settle -- even in the
NON-Christian ROMAN world ...
However, it was only during the 3rd Century AD --time of the GREEK Church
Fathers-- that the theological system called "Christianity" finally
crystallized, as a synthesis of Nazarean teachings, Neoplatonism, and
Greco-Roman mystery religions -- and with a conscious knowledge that the
"new" religion MUST incorporate the leitmotifs of Pisces
(ruled by Neptune), in order to show that it was "pre-ordained from eternity"
(in Catholic terms) by the same Creator who designed the Heavens as a
circular blueprint of Time ...
So, the disparity between the life and teachings of Jesus the man and the
theological mysteries of "the Resurrected Christ" reflects the
"archetypalization" of the Nazarean prophet until he had become an exemplary
"Sun-God," a Hero with a SYMBOLIC life -- a solar Hero dramatizing typically
PISCEAN themes --illusion vs. mysticism, "rebirth" through "water," Universal
Love (inclusive of "outcasts") and its BETRAYAL, GUILT and forgiveness,
self-sacrifice and selfless submission to FATE, and "faith"-- surrounded by
Piscean symbolism -- such as the Sea and Storm, the Boat, baptism in "living
water," the Fish and its Fishermen, Jonah and the Whale and Noah in the Ark
during the Flood (spoken of metaphorically, NB, by Jesus in the Gospels), the
Dove (bird of the planet Venus, exalted in the sign of Pisces -- a kind of
"celestial" counterpole to the Fish) ...

beginning of an Age --its formal "inauguration," you might say-- there is an
underground "preparatory"
movement for it, lasting about 360 years. The build-up for the Age of Pisces
began as early as the latter centuries of the Hellenistic Empire forged by
Alexander the Great.
The build-up for the Age of Aries (the age of Hebrew patriarchs and Greek
":heroes," shepherds both, sharing with other cultures a new WARRIOR
symbolism, with RAM sacrifice) began as early as the time of Sargon the
Lawmaker (Aries is opposite Libra, sign of the scales of Justice), when
Gilgamesh, "rejecter of the Bull," became a Hero.
So, if this impression is accurate, the ball will get rolling for us only
around 2020 AD, when the ARCHETYPES lying behind Aquarius will first begin to
take form -- first, in the
"popular unconscious," which will cause people to find "new meaning" in
certain themes in the eternal human drama as they present themselves embodied
in CURRENT history, and secondly, in the "inspired thought" of
philosophically-minded types, who may begin to interpret and judge Society
itself in terms of certain principles heretofore undervalued, whose emphasis
--through wide popular support-- could really CHANGE society AS A WHOLE,
giving rise to a new "culture" that would burn all traditional bridges behind
it ....
