-Caveat Lector- hmmm.... it'd be just dandy if they'd express their sentiment by ceasing the WAR on alternative healthcare, the WAR on cancer's victims, AZT victims, etc.... Until a great number of people wake up and smell the coffee- the dazzling rollouts of new drug after new drug after new drug IS NOT WORKING- it is CREATING "resistant" disease, it is RUINING people's health... in the U.S. it is DIRECTLY KILLING 100,000+ per year.... the ONLY way it's working is that the $1 trillion drug industry is the most profitable industry in the U.S. and has a near stranglehold over the rest of the planet's healthcare options, forging ahead through the tried and true political machinations in foisting drugs onto the world population through efforts of CDC, WHO, & co. If the AMA & associated COMMERCIAL MONOPOLISTS are all of a sudden overwhelmed with a sense of responsibility for adhering to the Hippocratic oath, let them show it by CEASING to persecute alternative healthcare practitioners at the very same time as they are trying to exploit the marketplace in alternatives to the rapidly failing pharmaceutical paradigm. Perhaps one place that the AMA could show some good faith would be by using their REMARKABLE political power to get the State off the back of Hulda Clark who is is being honored as "Scientist Of The Year" at a symposium for Alternative Science next week in Colorado and is currently being persecuted by AMA sponsored legislative implementation in the hands of the legal establishment in Bowen County, Indiana. see: http://www.Asheville-Computer.com/issues/huldaclark.html Until I see some movement AWAY from DECADES of suppression and persecution, the AMA is one group that will always come immediately to mind when I hear Bruce Cockburn sing "If I had a Rocket Launcher" .... When I think of this HUGE MONOLITHIC monopoly of science and pseudoscience, the GARGANTUAN interwoven monetary ties and political machinations of the AMA and the modern medical MACHINE, it is just like a big U.S. F-16 jet fighter all gleaming and polished and fueled and full of deadly cargo..... a rocket launcher is just what it brings to mind... It is too bad that somewhere along the line, nearly everyone who seems to want to help people in the medical field gets sidetracked into golf courses and stock portfolios. Dollars are one of the biggest drugs of all, eh? Some few have spoken the truth about the pharmaceutical/medical/industrial complex. http://www.ioa.com/~davehart/medicalmafia.htm http://www.ioa.com/~davehart/murderinject.htm http://www.ioa.com/~davehart/altmedcon.htm Send your comments and opinions to some or all of the following: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mark Mascolini, International AIDS Society [EMAIL PROTECTED] International Association of Physicians in AIDS Care http://www.iapac.org/ "Funded in part by individual membership dues (imagine that, eh?) and unrestricted educational grants from: Abbott Laboratories Agouron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Ted Lewers, MD Chair, Board of Trustees October 1, 1999 Robert Alan Silverstein, Co-Director, One Day in Peace Campaign Dear Mr. Silverstein: The American Medical Association (AMA) and its Young Physicians Section recently voted to support the One Day in Peace for January 1, 2000 Campaign. As physicians, we are committed to treating all suffering, ensuring that all populations receive equitable health care, and discouraging situations where suffering may occur. The AMA also will encourage physicians to work within their local hospitals on a state and national level to support the principles of the "One Day in Peace for January 1, 2000" Campaign.
